These were all the steps followed to create the lastest reward for Leaf!
- 1- Early sketch: The very first try was a good shot for the pose and overall setting of the picture thanks to the good references I was given to work with!
- 2- Sketch: After the 1st revision, I fixed some proportion problems and added some details I had missed after double checking the refs for the characters.
- 3- Lineart: Then I moved in with the clean lines and added further things I had overlooked (like the peen on the lil guy)
- 4- Flat colors: Then I included all the necessary colors as per requested by the designs (in 2 different layers for easier tweaking)
- 5- Shading: Then I moved in with the usual cell shading (3 layers, 2 shadows in multiply, 1 highlight in clear) with a purple color for the shadows and a more orange-like highlight.
- 6- Gradients: Then I moved in with extra gradients to spice up the flat colors a bit, and also colored the lineart for further blending, I also take the time to draw the body fluids properly in this stage (that stuff is hard sometimes, no pun intended)
- 7- Lightning effects: Next I go with some glow effects on the shinier parts, and also included some blushies!
- 8- Environment shadows: Finally I add some shadows for the environment.
- 9- Final render: And of course I add the typical gradient for the default bg, cuz why not lol. (color goes in the finished version)
And voila! Reward finished!
