Here are all the steps taken to create the lastest commission for FluffyNux.
Approximate time from start to finish: 2Hr 50 Min
- 1- Early Sketch: The 1st thing I figure out is the proper pose for the character, the client wanted me to come up with my own idea for the logistics, so I went for a more elegant pose! almost like a model.
- 2- Sketch revision: After revising the original sketch, I caught notice that I didn't need to use the original hairstyle featured on the references I was given, so I went for a more slick clean ponytail! (I'm a sucker for those) along with several missing details
- 3- Final sketch: Did some final changes to the head size, and included the other missing ear (now visible due to the new hairstyle) and changed the color
- 4- Base Flat Colors: Added the basic colors to distinguish all proper sections.
- 5- Full Flat Colors: Then added all the other colors and details
- 6- Rough Shading: Then some shadows using the watercolor brush and several stripes, and done!
