Step-by-Step Progress

Hello everyone,

I had promised myself that my next post here would be about playable content, but a lot has happened to prevent me from fulfilling that promise. The next few days will be more peaceful, and I intend to focus exclusively on the game's development. I think one of my biggest flaws with you is the difficulty I have in communicating the work that has been done, and I intend to improve this point. To start, I want to report a little about what I have done:

I reworked the chat system between characters, and during the process, I discovered a way to improve the save system and the game's logic system that I call the Conditional System. This requires me to redo the logic of the scenes already completed, but it is something that is well worth the work.

There was also a simplification in the way of applying the dynamics in the sex scenes, and I created a system of presets to reuse settings from one scene in another. I called it the Fornication System. To give you an idea, it took me a few days to prepare the dynamics of a particular scene. With the new system, I can drag a preset, and the dynamics are configured almost by themselves.

Other improvements are more related to the game editor, and they are actually pretty cool, but it's hard to explain. This is how cutscenes look in the editor now:

Progress List

In previous versions, I used to represent the development progress in a bar with a percentage. I abandoned this format when circumstances did not allow me to work continuously, and the percentage calculation became senseless. I thought about creating a more realistic format, and the best I could think of was a list of steps needed for completion. The idea is to mark the steps as they are completed, and weekly, I could explain what was done in each step:

πŸ“ Synopsis
πŸ““ Screenplay
πŸ‘“ Logic
πŸͺ› Tests/Fixes 1
πŸ‘― Characters
πŸ‘— Costumes
🏠 Scenarios
πŸ”₯ Hotspots
🧱 Blocking
πŸ’ƒ Posing
πŸ“· Framing
πŸ’‘ Lighting
πŸͺ› Tests/Fixes 2
πŸ—£ Voices
πŸƒ Animations
πŸ‘§ Expressions
πŸͺ› Tests/Fixes 3
🦡 Dynamics
🧩 Mechanics
 πŸͺ› Tests/Fixes 4
πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ Translations
🎹 Music
πŸ₯ SoundFX
πŸͺ›  Tests/Fixes 5 (Final Build)
πŸš€ Release (Test Version)
πŸ… Extra content
 πŸͺ›  Tests/Fixes 6
πŸš€ Release (Public Version)

I've ordered the steps so that the lower ones depend on the higher ones, but I may complete some steps out of order. The important thing is that you can look at the list to see how many steps are still left to be marked and get a better idea of the development progress.

One important thing is that I don't plan on posting updates to this list here, but rather on Discord. In fact, I plan to avoid technical content about the game in this space from now on. I'll reserve this space for more fun content whenever possible.

And so that this isn't a totally technical post, I'm attaching some pictures of Liza Nutter (Chloe and Jason's mom, Brendon's aunt). What do you think of her? Would you like to see more of her in the game? Let me know.

Thank you very much!

Hello, You're right, the idea was always to create a system that would allow me to create different games fluidly. I spent a lot of time developing a powerful system, but I still needed some ways to control it. I didn't expect it to take longer than the system itself. At the moment, I think all the necessary editors are ready; I just need to fix what was lost in the process and get back to creating content. What I want most now is to put all the work to the test at the best possible pace. Thanks again for being such an understanding and encouraging presence. I'll do my best to keep the progress coming!

Hello, It's always a real pleasure to see your posts here. I'm glad to see that things are working out for you and that you're maintaining your commitment to your game. It's sometimes difficult to set goals when creating a game, or even at certain stages of life. Nothing is planned in advance, and sometimes you have to face things head-on. It's really great to see that you've managed to revamp the character dialogue system and that you like it. It seems quite complicated for someone who doesn't know anything about it, but it's still nice to see that you've succeeded. The scene system also seems very complex, and optimizing it will definitely save you time. It's really great to see how your system is implemented for your game. Once again, we can see your ambition, which isn't limited to the game itself. You're creating your own system, which takes more time in development, but which can only be beneficial in the end, in my opinion. Your progression system also seems optimized. Just don't stress yourself out. As I said, just a message from time to time can be enough sometimes. :) As for the new character, she seems interesting, but I think I'll only give my opinion later when she's more developed :) As always, great work and take care. Good luck and look forward to seeing the rest here or on Discord. ! :D
