Finally the promised FPS!
Added 2024-04-08 00:30:42 +0000 UTCWith the delay that you are already accustomed to forgiving (and that I hope to be able to avoid in the future), I bring you the special Easter minigame.
Download (v0.1): MEGA | PIXELDRAIN | WORKUPLOAD
And as I said, it is an FPS. That's right, it wasn't an April 1st joke, this minigame is completely in first person and you shoot photos. A legitimate FPS, which stands for "Fapworthy Photo Shoot", and which I intend to make a recurring thing if you like it.

Nicole is the volunteer model and you will see her in 60 different poses. You will be able to photograph her in a horizontal or vertical position, check the photo in the gallery, and even save the file on your computer.
This minigame uses the photo-taking mechanic, which I had partially implemented in the opening scene of Step 2, where Nicole and Angel take photos of each other. Since that time, I wanted to make these photos a present element, with photoshoots with models in Wanda's studio, Nicole taking selfies and sending them to her love interests, among others. At the time I had problems implementing the mechanics, but now it is working perfectly and I present it to you.
Also present in this minigame are the changes to shaders. Now we have better control of the lighting in the scene, and a completely cartoony appearance, especially in the characters, complemented by a post-processing effect that improves everything. This is the look I wanted for the game from the beginning and I'm happy with the result.
Tutorial:
There is no objective other than taking the photos you want. The system is the same as MaliXemas, if the cursor is green and you click, it advances to the next pose. In the bottom left corner, there is a button that shows the commands for adjusting the camera, which are:
Shift: Rotate camera (horizontal/vertical).
Left/Right arrows: Move around the model.
Right mouse button: Hold and move to adjust the camera angle.
Middle mouse button: Scroll to zoom.
Left mouse button: Shoot the photo.
In the top right corner, there is the button that opens the gallery. When viewing the photo there are two buttons at the bottom of the photo that are used to save and delete the photo.

Bugs:
I didn't intend to stress with this minigame, as it only uses mechanics that were already ready. However, in the first build, a bug appeared that generated a delay in the procedural animation between takes. I still don't understand what caused this, but I think I managed to fix it. However, if you see Nicole quickly repositioning her hands at the end of the fade-in, let me know. It is important to me that this problem does not happen.
And that's it, folks! Tell me if you like it. What could I add to make this minigame more interesting? What other themes could I use in a future FPS? And which other girl deserves to participate in an FPS? Leave it in the comments.
I'll be back soon to explain the technical details and other things.
Thank you very much!

Hi! Thank you so much for your detailed feedback! I'm glad you enjoyed the wordplay. I think "fapworthy" sounds a little pretentious, but I couldn't think of another word that fits the joke better. I'm relieved to hear things are running smoothly during testing. Thanks for putting in the time to try to break the game, that kind of effort is invaluable. I'll keep an eye on those collision issues with Nicole's clothes, I made this outfit especially for this minigame and I haven't had time to reposition the vertices to avoid clipping. I'm happy to hear the mini-game mechanic feels more fluid and intuitive. That was a goal based on the earlier feedback. It means a lot that the artistic style resonates with you. I like your idea for photo challenges with a scoring system. sounds like a fun way to add another layer of engagement to the mini-game. I will definitely explore incorporating some variation of this idea over time. The potential unlocks like clothes or rewards feel perfect. In the main game, the photoshoot scenes are designed as a conversation with the model, within the context of the game. I'm so glad you're excited to see how the game unfolds. I can't wait to share more glimpses as development progresses. Thanks again for your always helpful feedback! Best regards!

2024-04-09 01:48:48 +0000 UTCHello, Well done on the wordplay and the meaning of the letters! Congratulations on fixing the problem you had. ======= Bug part ======= Well, no video this time because there weren't really any bugs during my testing phases (about 1.5 hours doing my best to break the game and see how it holds up ^^). As far as I'm concerned, after 5 games I haven't had the bug you mentioned in your post. There are just a few small collision problems with Nicole's clothes, particularly on the straps of her top. Nothing too serious 😊 ========= Advice section ============ I have to admit that during the second episode I didn't really like this mechanism as it was quite complicated to get through. But now I find it very fluid and fairly intuitive. The mini-game is really nice and shows off the power of your animations and facial expressions really well. To make the mini-game more interesting, why not add photo challenges with a sort of score at the end. For example, you have to take a photo at a precise moment by pressing the flash button. The better the quality of the photo, the more points you earn, and if it's not, you can lose points. In the end, when you present the photos, the characters are either delighted with the result or hate the photos. In both cases, they will react. In the main game this will unlock things like clothes, rewards or other things. This mini-game should have an impact and not be an unimportant moment as it helps your story if I've understood correctly. I also think that it could be an optional mini-game at times, hence the idea of putting in rewards to motivate players. =================== My opinion ================= I'd already like to stress the quality of the animation, which is a pleasure to watch. Your artistic style with this cartoon aspect is really sublime and shows your efforts to get there. The mini-game is nice, but it needs to be used properly in the game so as not to make it too bland. ========== Closing words ========= Congratulations again on your work, you've made great progress with the mechanics you've presented. It makes me want to see your work in the game even more. Take your time and have fun. I can't wait to go behind the scenes and see what happens next with the game and the things you're going to create. Kind regards Ps : maybe Angel for next time. It's logical continuation ^^
