Progress Report

I intended to make a progress report last week, but I was afraid the post would hide the demo release, so this will be a report for the last two weeks. But before I want to remind you to check out the Demo if you haven't already, this is exclusive content for supporters is also a way to thank you guys for all your help.

Most of my work so far has been in creating tools to animate scenes as quickly as possible. Finishing the scene for the demo gave me another perspective. I actually brought a long scene to life in a very short time, but I had to replay the scene many times to fix the flaws, and even then I missed some easy-to-fix issues.

What I concluded is that I need to take it more slowly going forward. Even though it takes me longer to see the scene working, it will take less time to get the scene completed if everything is in place.

Before releasing the demo I made two changes to how the game works. One related to how the characters touch each other, in the demo you can see Angel holding Nicole's face as they kiss. Before this was trickier to do, I made it more automatic and simplified the process to improve performance. Another change is related to the objects in the scene, it is also now less tricky for characters to hold objects.

I made one more male character, which was the only one left for the next update, Jason Nutter, Chloe's brother. I've given up on Barney's mustache, for now, it's a lot of work to move the mustache along with the facial expressions.

All scenes are demarcated, which means that all that's left is to add the animations. Some just need a few details to complete. And here's the progress bar back:

With all the changes made, it's inevitable that I will have to revise the old scenes as well, but I believe this won't take too long.
