Shine ชาย (Orchestric Ver) - Episode 2 | REACTION

Comments

I’m very intrigued by the character of Moira. The implication seems to be that her grandmother was the minor wife of a noble, and now here she is a couple generations later, the owner of the place-to-be hotel in Bangkok. Aside from Trin and Tanwa, she’s the only character that rates a mention in the official series description, so I have to assume she’ll continue to play a large role in the story. I also wonder how she and Tanwa know each other. Maybe just by the virtue of her being a hotel/venue owner and Tanwa being the frontman of a popular band. But it’s also implied the Tanwa’s mother (if his narrative is to be believed) was the real family breadwinner and money maker. The wildest of speculation, but could his mother and Moira have been friends/business partners, etc.? Moving on from Moira, the inclusion of the book La Nausée is quite interesting. For anyone not familiar, the novel is the “diary” of a extremely socially isolated and depressed historian and his reflections on and (generally) disgust with the people he encounters day-to-day, and his his belief that he can suddenly and perfectly see through everyone and all of the artifices of society. Also, some prop person went and found a period correct 1960s copy of the book, which, as a librarian and a long-time book collector, makes me very happy. 🤣
