The issue with the cousin could have been explored a bit more, but the way I understood it, the cousin was upset here in this episode not because Sean wants to give him the company (he definitely wants that) but because Sean is daring to defy the family. He became violent because it's a way to control, to punish, to say "you can't do this" - the family has always been portrayed as caring only about their interests and not personal happiness, so Sean is expected to be a certain way and he is not supposed to go off to Taiwan and be happy... The cousin probably has the same kind of restrictions as Sean in his own life, & it's that mentality of - "if I have to be miserable in this life, so do you", and also "I do want you gone from the company but I don't want you happy in a simple life with Shaopeng, you are supposed to marry Jessica and lead a vapid life", twisted but kinda realistic... As for the fact that the cousin tried to kill Sean, again, I wish the show had explored that decision a bit more... cause, maybe the cousin thought that was the only way to get the company, but we still weren't really given his reason, and Sean did keep telling him he didn't want the company before and after the murder attempts.
