Post-Origins Plans and AMA

Hey friends!

Just getting back from a pretty unsuccessful exhibition at Origins. The main thing I noticed is that 5e physical products just don’t do as well as they used to.

But do not panic! I will continue making 5e fantasy (or fantasy adjacent as my stuff here tends to be) content and conversions for all paid subscribers.

Starting soon, free versions of my content will be geared toward OSR with 5e conversions and VTT packs dropping at the same time.

OSR means Old School Renaissance. Basically D&D prior to 3.0: Mork Borg, Shadowdark, Old School Essentials, and DCC more or less fall into this category.

I’ll have a single-page rules sheet for those not familiar with OSR, too.

The setting will be MEK BORG’s REND-6, but still usable as fantasy content since REND-6 will largely feel like Desolation of Ditimaya, Helkara, and Deadrunners.

Books/content going forward will likely be free copies of whatever we’re printing in a month. We’re now mostly caught up with backlog thanks to Werebeasts and Negative Energy Plane, so we can now get back on track.

Allow me to reiterate: the paid content you’re receiving will still largely be drop-in content for fantasy 5e, just with OSR/Mek Borg branding.

Anyways, that’s where I’m at. Let me know your thoughts and questions in the comments.

"Our 5E sales have been slowing since WotC decided to fuck the golden goose on the altar before slaughtering it and then trying to bleed every penny out of its corpse". There, fixed it for you.

For the AMA I'm also looking to do what you do but specifically for solo and GM-Less content. If you were me starting from the beginning based on what you know now, would you make a bunch of content like you did, see what works, what you like making, what you hate and so on and so forth? Or would you just go straight to making OSR content and just include 5e conversions for the people that play 5e?
