He's still the naive boy who fell in love with young Melody and the break up of their marriage has stopped his "maturation" as adult person. He's a boy in a mature man's body. A submissive man would accept the situation and he'd make some sort of "negotiation" according to his "level" of submission; a sober not submissive man would have hit in the face the two Black Studs at breakfast in hotel dining room and kicked in the ass Alice & Melody, but he's only a boy never grew up EMOTIONALLY.
