Poll #477 - Pick the werebear plot
Added 2024-12-15 21:35:42 +0000 UTCHey folks!
I've just finished writing and reviewing the wereraven adventure "The Unkindness," which will be released tomorrow to all Patrons at the Copper+ tier.
If you want to get a hold of this 24-page murder (no pun intended) mystery adventure set in the Omerian city of Murktown (lotta callbacks to old content in this bad boy), make sure that you're a paid patron.
Remember: prices are going up on the 1st.

Next up... werebears. I've used the robo-pal to come up with some werebear centric plots and edited them a bit to better fit my style. Pick the one you like best. I start writing it on Wednesday for release the following Monday.
I apologize in advance, as these are all fucking great plots, and it'll be hard to choose just one of them.
Werebear Plots
1. Ursus Giganteus
The Frostwarden, a legendary werebear guardian of the Icebound Forest, has always kept the arctic safe from frost giants and other predators. However, the Frostwarden accidentally infected a frost giant with werebear lycanthropy. The transformed giant has become a massive, uncontrollable threat, ravaging the wilds and preparing to attack nearby settlements. The adventurers must confront both the Frostwarden, who is wracked with guilt and the giant to stop the chaos.
2. The Curse of the Glacier Clan
The Glacier Clan, a nomadic tribe of lycanthropic arctic hunters, has been cursed by an ancient winter spirit—a creature tied to hunger and predation akin to a mythic Howling Hunger. This spirit has corrupted the tribe’s lycanthropy, turning its werebears feral and bloodthirsty. The adventurers must enter the icy caves where the spirit resides and either destroy or appease it while navigating the dangerous, feral werebears who protect it against their will.
3. The Guardian of Winterfang Keep
In the ruins of Winterfang Keep, an ancient werebear guards a forgotten treasure tied to a frost deity. However, the werebear has begun attacking nearby settlements, driven mad by a cursed shard of ice embedded in their chest. The adventurers must venture to the Keep, confront the werebear, and either free them from the curse or slay them to end their rampage.
4. Tracks in the Snow
A young werebear, cursed and unable to control their transformations, has fled their family’s arctic outpost and taken refuge in the frozen tundra. With a deadly winter storm rolling in, the adventurers must track the werebear before they are discovered by bounty hunters seeking to profit from their curse—or by the territorial remorhaz stalking the same trail. But there's a twist—the bounty hunters are wereboars who loathe werebears.
5. Howl of the Icebound Peaks
A mining expedition in the Icebound Peaks has disturbed an ancient werebear spirit bound to the glacier. This spirit has begun spontaneously transforming people in the nearby village into werebears, who have started attacking members of the mining group. The adventurers must deal with the spirit and decide whether to shut down the mining operation, risking the wrath of its well-funded backers, or resolve the crisis through another means.
6. Blood on the Iceflow
A series of brutal attacks on fishing villages along the Frozen Tides has left the survivors terrified. Eyewitnesses claim the culprit is a massive werebear that appears from beneath the ice at night. However, the adventurers discover that the creature has been forced into violence by a group of ice trolls who have enslaved it using dark magic. The adventurers must decide whether to free the werebear or exploit its desperation to stop the trolls.
7. The Silverfang’s Trial
In the heart of the Glacial Wastes, the ancient werebear known as Silverfang puts all who dare enter their domain to the ultimate test. Silverfang’s trials are not just physical—featuring deadly traps and fearsome foes—but mental, challenging the adventurers with intricate puzzles and riddles. The adventurers must pass these tests to earn a powerful artifact or the respect of the werebear, who could become an invaluable ally in future challenges. Failure, however, could mean death in the frozen wilderness.
