Announcement and Poll #469 - The Return of BroadSword
Added 2024-12-02 00:03:17 +0000 UTCHey friends,
I recently hired a new helper editor to help me get out of the weeds. After examining the Patreon page and determining what has worked in the past and what hasn't, we've decided to go back to basics.
As such, those of you at the Gold and higher tiers will receive BroadSword once more, starting with the new edition, which will hopefully ship by the end of this month and early January.
Below is an explanation of BroadSword, its benefits, and how your account credit works with it.
After that, there is a poll, which will help me decide what content you want.
What is BroadSword?
BroadSword Monthly is DMDave’s flagship compilation of Fifth Edition adventures, delivering an all-in-one resource for Dungeon Masters every month. Packed with expertly crafted content, it’s designed to make your campaigns exciting, dynamic, and easy to run.
🎲 Epic Adventures Made Simple
BroadSword brings together several ready-to-play adventures in a single volume. Each adventure includes maps, encounters, and detailed storylines, giving you everything you need to keep your players engaged.
🗺️ Custom Maps and Rich Lore
Every issue features stunning maps from legendary creators like Dyson Logos, Tom Cartos, and Tim Hartin, as well as immersive storylines designed to challenge and captivate your party.
⚔️ Tailored for Fifth Edition
All content is fully compatible with the latest Fifth Edition rules, ensuring seamless integration into your ongoing campaigns.

Who Gets Access?
Electrum Tier Patrons and higher: Get the latest PDF version of BroadSword Monthly.
Gold (BroadSword) and Higher Patrons: Receive the physical BroadSword book each month. Note: there will be a separate gold tier for Just Passing Through patrons.
Platinum Patrons. In addition to BroadSword, patrons at the Platinum level will get access to Just Passing Through physical, too.
These are printed and distributed through Amazon's Kindle Direct Publishing, so it will only be available for patrons in the US, Canada, UK, Spain, France, Germany, Italy, Australia, and the UK.
Exclusive Benefits for Gold+ and Long-Term Patrons
Being a Gold+ patron isn’t just about monthly rewards—it’s about long-term perks that keep giving back. Here’s how we take care of our loyal patrons:
💳 Credit-Based Rewards
We keep a log of everything you’ve spent as a patron. If you’ve been a Gold+ patron for at least one month and have spent a minimum of $25 in patron benefits, you’re eligible to receive the latest book release—no additional cost.
✨ Even if You Leave
If you decide to leave, you’ll still receive books and benefits until all of your accumulated credit has been used. Your support will always be recognized, whether you're an active patron or not.
📈 Locked-In Pricing
With prices expected to increase (for the first time in six years), your current tier and benefits will remain locked in as long as you stay subscribed. This means you’ll continue receiving your rewards at today’s price, even as new patrons pay higher rates.
🎁 Crowdfunding Credits and Enhanced Discounts
For upcoming Backerkit crowdfunding campaigns, your credit will apply toward additional items, helping you get even more value. Plus, we may offer exclusive store discounts for patrons with unused credit, so you can save even more on your favorite games and accessories.
What Content Do You Want in the New BroadSword?
Below are a few options for the type of stuff we can include in the new BroadSword. I'll be releasing some of this month, along with stuff that's already come out. Choose as many as you want.
Comments
That’s the plan. Like old school Paizo. 6-mo content drip.

2024-12-04 23:10:10 +0000 UTCAlthough I think a book with a full-length campaign would be great now and again (maybe every 6 months?) maybe an easier way would be every issue there is one adventure that builds on one from the previous month, so after 12 issues you have a campaign built out. I would love that approach (and then not too taxing for a full campaign right away).
