Call for Suggestions #121 - Crown & Court intrigue and politicking...

Hey all!

If you remember, a couple of days ago, I did a Call for Suggestions asking what sort of content you wanted for a 5e rules supplement. A lot of folks mentioned they were interested in my Birthright idea, and that's what I've been working on most of today.

In fact, I may have already gone a bit overboard.

Crown & Court: High Concept

The highest concept of this supplement is that tthe characters are all members of a noble house. They themselves may even be the lord/lady of the house, heir apparent, family members, or just vassals. While they will spend most of their time adventuring, they will also spend considerable time managing the house, dealing with intrigue, and fighting off rivals.

So far, I've come up with:

I also plan to add other information that allows the characters to move through time and age and play through their lineage, similar to how Pendragon does it.

Once I reached this point, I figured it'd probably be easier to make this rules-agnostic. It will still be heavily based on D&D, but realistically, you can use these rules and tables with any game.

I'll probably be working on this more today and some tomorrow, so there's plenty of time for me to add in your ideas. I should have a rough "playable" version of the content, which I can release as a PDF, inevitably working to a full-length book for you $25+ folks.

Having said all that...

What would you like to see added that I haven't already covered? Let me know in the comments below.

A table for small heirlooms that are significant to the family's history. At one point, I was working on a table rolling system to generate coats of arms. I'd be happy to clean that up and show it to you if you'd like.

It’ll function similar to Acquisitions, Inc. giving “meat” to downtime actions between adventures

Is the idea that a single noble house functions somewhat like a PC when it comes to interactions with other noble houses? That makes better sense of the bulleted points. That the ideas here are less about individual members than about the house as a whole.
