The ignans have haunted our world for as long as anyone remembers. Born of evil magic, their creator and incantations are lost to time. Fire is feared. Forbidden. The land lies charred and lifeless. Smoke chokes the sky. The world is arid, suffocating under an eternal shroud of ash.
Yet, whispers of a different time persist. Tales of green forests and blue waters. A paradise now only a memory. But in this desolation, hope flickers. Some believe change is possible. That the plague of ignans can be ended. They seek a way to return the land to its former glory.
The watergivers. The stoneworkers. The sages and warriors. All strive against the relentless tide of fire. They wander the ashen ruins. They search for ancient secrets. They fight to survive.
The road is perilous. The ignans are merciless. Yet, even in the darkest times, hope endures. For as long as there are those who dream, who fight, the world may yet rise from the ashes.

This document came from an idea I had for a Fifth Edition campaign setting. What if there was a fantasy post-apocalyptic setting that came from something other than undead—perhaps fire elementals? The first part of this introduces the character archetypes I see thriving in this world. I'll continue building on it throughout the rest of this month. Maybe.
The player section is now complete. I will begin working on the GM section soon.
