Poll #428 - DCC Setting Name - Balkan Witch-Hunting!
Added 2024-04-10 19:53:19 +0000 UTCHey everyone!
The last poll I posted had you all pick the type of campaign world we want to build. The big winners in that poll were New World Witch-Hunting and a Victorian Gothic campaign. I've decided to blend both of those together and just set it in the mid-1200s, right when the Golden Horde started attacking Eastern Europe and the Second Bulgarian Empire started to decline.
The idea I have is to create a world that has some of the classic Victorian bad guys but without the "taint" of gothic horror.
For example, vampires in this world won't be the suave, sun-fearing creatures of the night from Stoker's work of the movies, but zombified-like blood-drinkers created from curses and improper burials. Your monster hunters won't be cowboys, victorian nobles, and the like, but medieval soldiers, pagan spiritualists, etc.—things that the Middle Ages had versus the 1800s.
Since this is a bit more "historical" in its scope with a touch more realism than D&D, I think it'd make a better DCC setting. Of course, it should be pretty easy to make 5e.
(Also, I've been dying to make something set in DCC for a while now, so...)
Anywho, we need a name for this setting. As usual, this is one of my pet projects to poke at in between working on the other content (I managed to finish up three books today!)
