Of Books and Gold+ Memberships

Hey friends,

I just wanted to give you all a quick update on what's up with content, memberships, and the whole shebang.

1) Patreon-Exclusive Dave. Other than logistics and admin, my sole focus is this Patreon. All other projects are written or being written, so all I have to do is write write write 5e adventures, and make sure the lights stay on.

2) Adventures, Tables, and Just Passing Through. I'm working primarily on 5e adventures, JPT locations, and random tables to complement those adventures.

3) Multiple Adventure Books Versus One Big Book. Instead of working toward one "big" book at the end of each month, I'll create stuff in individual adventure books in letter size, black-and-white, staple-bound format, a la Goodman Games' DCC, and classic D&D modules. These books will be approximately $12 MSRP with FREE shipping to US patrons of the gold tier or higher.

4) Minimum Two Books Per Month. I will create at least two of these books each month with no limit to how many I make. This prevents me from overpromising and lets me create as much value as possible in a given month. Some months I'll do just two. Some months I'll do, like... ten. Those who've been a patron long enough know what's up.

5) We'll Send You Up to Your Dues. At the end of each month, your Patron tier will automatically "buy" a number of these books up to your monthly membership dues. Unfortunately, you won't be able to choose the automatically shipped booksβ€”that would create a logistical nightmare likely to crash the entire system. We might offer this in the future, but I prefer to KIS for now.

6) Gold Members Will Likely Get Two Per Month. For example, if you're a Gold tier member living in the US, your monthly membership dues are $25. Therefore, you will automatically receive two of these adventure books, which will ship shortly after the month ends (it takes us about 2 weeks to print the books via our printer in the US).

7) International Rates. We will have the rates soon for shipping books to other countries. We often use Kindle Direct Publishing for our publishing, which means we can ship directly to certain countries that aren't the US: Canada, Australia, New Zealand, UK, Germany, Italy, France, and Spain. We may continue to do that. We will keep you posted and have an answer before the end of the month.

8) You Can Order Any You Don't Receive. If we produce extra books over your membership allowance (say we have four books that month, and you're only getting two), you can pre-order these books via our webstore to add to your allotment. They will all ship together.

9) Patreon-Exclusive Content. If the numbers permit, many of these adventure books will be exclusive to patrons as a way to say thank you for your continued dedication to our products.

10) Backorders Are Coming. If you've been a gold or higher patron for a while, we are working through our backorders now. All of that information is built into Patreon's system. Yes, we're terribly behind, but you will automatically receive the extra adventure books without having to pay for them.

Disclaimer: This is the current plan. But things always have a way of changing. I can say, though, that based on how myself and the rest of the team operates, the costs for print, and our current logistics, this should all flow nicely with what we're already doing and not really "shake things up" too much.

Please let me know if you have any questions. This isn't 100% set in stone yet, so we can still iterate.

Thanks!

Dave

Those are coming. I'm just releasing the adventures first and then Bree puts them together. We're getting caught up now but should have the last few releases this week and the next.

As I shift my focus to VTT, I'm most interested in seeing more of your stuff adapted for Foundry. I'm seriously out of shelf space anyway, and all of my gaming has transitioned to VTT. Tools and adventures adapted Foundry are what I'll be watching for.

Yes. They’re just the adventures. 🀘

If we are Gold and you do 10 books would we still get electronically any books you don't send physically?
