Iber grew up playing with the Pigsdy boys, since his parents worked in the neighboring, yet smaller farm.

Tragically, an influenza epidemic separated him from his parents, and the Pigsdy took him as their own son.

While it’s true that Iber loves the Pigsdys as if they were his own parents, he has always felt the particular need to ‘return the favor’ of their kindness and generosity. He’s always helped in everything he could and made double the effort to stand out in his studies. His love for reading has been there from the beginning, as a little child with fairytales, fables, and nursery rhymes.

Giving up his childhood dream of becoming a fantasy writer, he decided to take on college studies and graduated with honors as a Civil Engineer.

At College, he met the literature professor Noel Marshall. They had a common love for fantasy novels and started to see each other frequently.

It slowly grew  from discussions of books they loved into dates, dinners, and walks together. They began to hold hands and shared hugs and tender kisses, all new and strange for Iber, but not for Noel.

They kept this relationship going all the years of Iber’s college career, which went fast due his hard work. In the end, Iber wanted something more official, but Noel confessed that he didn’t believe in strings. Iber was hurt but, having thought their relationships wasn’t exactly “normal” from the beginning, he accepted it, and the two parted on good terms.

Back at home, he settled in with his family, and Kurt reappeared one day bringing even more joy to his life. Words said hastily in anger on both sides were forgiven, and the brothers were happy together. Iber was reunited with his old friend Bea, oldest daughter of the biggest neighboring farm. The two began dating, and they started dating, getting more and more serious.

A wedding was even planned, but it didn’t work out again.

Bea confessed that even though she cared for Iber (enough to confess the truth), she had been pressured by her dad to marry a Pigsdy to get closer and claim their land as well. Full of shame, she apologized and ran away. Iber never blamed her, but he decided to focus only on his career from now on. Out of respect for their brother, Kurt and Virgil agreed to never talk about this episode again.

Meanwhile, his outstanding grades  helped him get a job quickly and escalate to a leadership post in urbanization projects happening in the neighboring city. He got numbers and contacts in government offices, which helped him get fiscal aid when the time came. Then he met a rookie wolf who was sent to help with his family farm.
