Poll #375 - Frostlands Ranger Archetypes

This Saturday, I'll be releasing two new subclasses: one for barbarians and one for rangers.

I've come up with 10 ideas for Ranger archetypes using the ol' robot. These are just rough outlines, but at least give you some idea of the way we can go with this.

Pick the one you think sounds the coolest, and it gets made. Voting ends soon, so hop on it!

1. Winterstalker Conclave

Rangers of this conclave are masters of survival in snowy, icy environments. They gain the ability to move easily through difficult snowy terrain and have cold-based attacks.

2. Valkyrie's Chosen

Rangers who are chosen by Valkyries gain the ability to see into the future and receive limited spellcasting capabilities with a focus on divination and protection spells.

3. Fenrir's Legacy

Rangers who follow this path have a wolf companion that gains special winter abilities, such as causing frost damage or summoning a localized snowstorm.

4. Rune Warden

Skilled in the ancient art of rune magic, these Rangers can imbue their arrows or weapons with runic power for various effects like extra damage, elemental abilities, or even trapping enemies.

5. Jotunbane

Specializing in giant-slaying, these Rangers gain abilities that make them exceptionally effective against larger creatures, reflecting the eternal struggle between the Aesir gods and the Jotun.

6. Skaldic Whisperer

Channel the storytelling powers of the Skalds, allowing them to use song or verse to inspire allies, distract enemies, or even tame beasts.

7. Glacier Sentinel

Master defenders of icy realms, these Rangers can create icy barriers and traps, as well as invoke avalanches or localized blizzards.

8. Draugr Hunter

Focused on hunting undead and other unnatural creatures, these Rangers gain special abilities to detect, resist, and inflict more damage on undead creatures.

9. Njord's Mariners

These sea-faring Rangers are favored by Njord, the god of the sea. They excel in naval combat and can call upon the elements to control water and wind.

10. Thor's Vanguard

A warrior who gains limited elemental abilities focused on thunder and lightning, reflecting Thor’s mastery over storms. Ideal for those who want to channel the might of the Thunder God.
