Dark Carnival Poll - DMG or Not DMG?

Hey all,

As it looks like Dark Carnival will win the next poll (by like... a lot), I'm trying to think of the best way to do it. Because Ravenloft is not covered by the SRD, the guide which I must follow in order to create Fifth Edition content "legally", I'd have to make a non-Ravenloft version of it and just drop subtle "hints" that it can be used as such. But it'd be included with your normal Patreon account's benefits.

Alternatively, I can make a Ravenloft supplement that works directly with the details from both the new and old versions of the Dark Carnival.

If I do the latter, there's one big catch: I can't share it here on Patreon. I'd have to sell it separately on DMsGuild, BUT it would be 100% accurate to Ravenloft (including references as far back as 2nd Edition AD&D).

So that's your two choices. "Vanilla" Carnival that you'll get on here or a hyper-accurate "Ravenloft" Carnival that will be exclusive to DMG as a separate purchase.

Vanilla is a better way for non experieced dm, always think of them. For those Who want to tweek for ravenloft the book of raveloft Will give you the guide line. :-)

Personally, I don't care if it sticks to canon. I'd wager the majority of experienced DMs will tweak it to fit their setting anyway. If going the DMGuild route gives you the freedom to make a better product, do that. Otherwise just go your own route.

Thanks for explaining why you are bound by the SRD.
