Call for Suggestions - New rogue subclass

Hey all!

We're brainstorming the goods for the upcoming Kickstarter books and needed some ideas for different rogue subclasses to bring into the books. Wizards has done a pretty good job covering all the bases, so we weren't sure what to go with. That's why we decided to turn to you.

What sort of rogue subclass would you like to see in Fifth Edition?

Let us know in the comments below.

Most of the skills currently useable by Rogues can be utilized by the Spy though they would need to have more Charisma based skills.. Think Michael Westen from the series Burn Notice.. Combat skills, but has the Charisma skills to act parts, Intimidate and persuade to gather information. Has connections and knows people to help in certain situations... (good background feature here)

Yeah, that's a bit what I'm leaning toward

I true Spy Subclass.

A rogue using thrown weapons

It was mentioned by others, but a divine rogue is something I would love to play/see.

How about a confidence trickster type with skills tooled towards Charisma and deception. As long as there were also some abilities that were directly applicable in combat it would be useful outside of a heavy RP campaign. Something like a dirty fighting skill or distractions giving advantage to the party perhaps.

A rogue with "acrobat skill, trowhing knife," live in a circus (the covert)

I have heard tell of a Rogue archetype called a "War Jester" that seems interesting....

It would be cool to see a magic-based rogue, who uses spells and magical abilities to support a secretive lifestyle. Their rolls are based on Intelligence or Wisdom, and they primarily use School of Illusion to confuse their marks and give them the edge in whatever score they're working on.

Nightcrawler. A rogue with banging abilities to get in and around the battlefield. Maybe a quarter caster like AT.

In tune with the trend in having companions, I would like to see a rogue with a creature side kick like a monkey to distract and steal (think Raiders of the Lost Ark) or maybe a loyal guard dog , one with the same dark and sad backstory as the rogue of course

I would like to see an Artificer Rogue. Firecely independant, an Artifier Rogue is a creature of subterfuge who refuses to bow to magical influences and relies only on their wit and their skill. And they believe it so strongly they actually emit a faint anti-magic aura, almost like a natural psionic talent, causing magic spells to fail more easily. And in relying on their wit and skill they rely on their mechanical prowess. They are masters at making and disarming traps and building non-magical mechanical marvels. Like the artificier class, but more rogue less wizard. Would be perfect in a steampunk D&D world.
