Pexia's Guide to Omeria Outline/Layout

Tonight, I spent a few hours planning out the big Omeria book we're going to Kickstart in May so I can figure out what resources we need, what materials we need to curate, and so forth. Since I've always been one who enjoys sharing my process, I figured: "Why not share this with everyone else so they can get a good look at what to expect from this huge tome?"

Also, I get asked a lot how I write the stuff I do. This document should serve as a "Rosetta Stone" to the way I think. I like to lay everything out ahead of time and give myself page count/word count goals so I know what I need to do.

Finally, if you see anything that you feel is missing, you can let me know in the comments below. Keep in mind that the Hand of the Book will have a lot of NPC stat blocks, details on major cities, etc.

Thanks! This will help me organize my own campaign setting. :D

Dilldwarf

Noice!

Russel Miner

Yep. In fact, I just commissioned artwork for The Four Generals today.

DM Dave

Will there be anything on faiths? Or is that likely to be subsumed into the Motivations and Factions sections?

Anthony Gascoigne

Perfect! I love giving my players that sort of thing and I can never make that sort of thing on the spot!

Wendy Meeple

Hand of the Eight + the Omeria book will finally explain some of the big secrets of the campaign

DM Dave

Orbea - best tacos on the Weysevain Coast! :D

DM Dave

Maybe a travelling guide too (how low it takes to get places, what kind of public transport is there, what mounts are available)

Wendy Meeple

It would be wonderful to have a eating and drinking out and shopping guide :-)

Wendy Meeple

Also the mystery and dangers of the Omeria ocean, I'm also glad the two Dynasty's are being covered cause I'm interested in that lore too

Some specific personal hopes of mine for the campaign I'm running in Omeria, is more lore on the Von Doral dwarves and the Gar Wabrizz goblins. The invasion and displacement of the dwarves, what they had in their tunnels to drive the goblins to wipe them out, the Infinite Gem Halls, what the Gar Wabrizz are doing now, etc.

Oh! I'm not familiar with 'em. Yeah, this'll be tied more closely to the elemental background of Omeria and be more about "chaos wielding" than actual elements. Kinda like how Limbo in D&D isn't a realm of chaos inasmuch a it's where all four elements collide and fight for dominance.

DM Dave

Awesome. OAP is Outlandish Adventures Productions. They do a lot of stuff with other people, so I was just wondering. The have a pretty good elementalist class that is very very Avatar. My issue is that that Avatar feel doesn’t fit perfect into every setting, so this might be a nice alternative for less Avatar-esc settings.

Donovan Lowell

OAP? And yeah, it'll be totally new

DM Dave

Question: is this an elementalist class we have seen before (such as the one from OAP), or a new one entirely?
