Poll - Help me come up with a late April adventure idea (Level 17-20+)
Added 2021-03-26 02:22:41 +0000 UTCHey all!
Now that Vault of Terror is officially out, our next big release is set for next Friday, The Queen of the Shadows. I'm mid-way through drafting that and then I've got The Treasure and Awaken on the docket.
However, I haven't started putting together any ideas for late April yet. I'm thinking...
TIER 4! I'd like to something that takes heroes from Levels 17-20. And I would also like to set it in one of the planes (or multiple).
Below, I've listed all of the SRD-ish planes that are available.
Let me know where you'd like to see some epic-level adventures!

Thank you! Totally missed that one. Been wanting to run a session in limbo so this will be perfect!
2021-03-29 02:27:29 +0000 UTCI have a whole series on limbo that I wrote on the blog. https://dmdave.com/the-randomness-of-limbo/

2021-03-27 20:43:24 +0000 UTCSomething in limbo would be cool with how the environment is constantly changing.
2021-03-26 23:31:07 +0000 UTCI'm doing one currently as a commission, so I'm not sure I wanna jump right into that again (no pun intended). But I'm kinda digging that two very different planes are close to winning

2021-03-26 19:14:07 +0000 UTCHave a plane hopping chase adventure. Players are chasing their for across the planes, trying to stop him from collapsing the universe. Too far reaching? Depends on the level of madness that can be achieved. ;)

2021-03-26 17:25:18 +0000 UTCYeah 100% I personally haven't looked too deep into the AP but I have also never seen anything on it. Would love an adventure in it. That way it goes from "my players are in there, I now have to research this" To "Heres an awesome plot hook to the AP that's never explored too much" I think it would be a challeng to create a adventure in there, but it would be 1 of few. Plus daves a god, I believe haha Might not be now, but he's getting more people in and covering more and more areas.
2021-03-26 16:32:31 +0000 UTCI also put Astral just because I know everyone else is already going Feywild. I'd love to see AP even just get put on the "someday" list.

2021-03-26 16:25:31 +0000 UTCIs Limbo considered "going low"? I've been playing with my group for almost 15 years now, and the adventure I'm currently DMing is leading them towards Limbo for the first time during this time and I wasn't aware it's something... low... :(
2021-03-26 14:18:27 +0000 UTCThere's rumors abound that Wizards might be doing a fey book later this year. Guess we'll see.

2021-03-26 14:16:26 +0000 UTCHow loooow can you gooooo?
DM Dave
2021-03-26 14:14:12 +0000 UTCI really think that the Feywild is something that can be further explored. There are so many parts of 5e character creation that can be tied to it, and not a ton of adventures there.
2021-03-26 13:08:00 +0000 UTCI’d like to see one on the elemental planes, especially on fire or earth.

2021-03-26 08:41:12 +0000 UTCEspecially the Soul Market run by the hags, or the City of Brass with the Efrit

2021-03-26 08:40:02 +0000 UTCI would love an adventure in Limbo, but I can see there's no chance...
2021-03-26 07:45:10 +0000 UTCLand of the (3D) Misprints or a candy-themed adventure with a gingerbread dragon.

2021-03-26 05:41:24 +0000 UTCI think in adventure on the plane of gears and failed mechanical creatures. Possibly in the mind of god spark of imagination

2021-03-26 03:17:38 +0000 UTCI would love to see an adventure start in a good-aligned realm, descend into a realm of madness, and then journey back to the original plane with some lingering side effects to deal with.

2021-03-26 03:13:09 +0000 UTCVarious planes would be cool. The Feywild, Shadowfell, The Abyss, & The Nine Hells have all been kinda done ad nauseum. It would be nice to see content for some of the less traveled upper & lower planes, like Gehenna, Bytopia, Arborea, Carceri, & The Beastlands.
Dhavaram
2021-03-26 02:59:01 +0000 UTCAn adventure that jumps between would be cool. Adventures in feywild are more common, gotta give those hexblades some love haha
2021-03-26 02:35:11 +0000 UTCYeah the Astral plane is a weird one. Requires a bit more creativity then most other planes
2021-03-26 02:33:44 +0000 UTCFeywild or Shadowfell would be especially interesting. Or maybe some combination?
Greg Downey
2021-03-26 02:30:50 +0000 UTClol my favorite D&D thing Astral Plane is... weird. It's mostly empty with floating gods in it and stuff.
DM Dave
2021-03-26 02:30:23 +0000 UTCI would like the Astral Plane, an adventure inside there would be great after a character puts a bag of holding inside another one. An adventure and rescue mission all in one haha
2021-03-26 02:27:35 +0000 UTCYo feywild would be sick. I haven’t seen a lot of adventures there, tho I guess I haven’t looked.
