Starting on February 15th, 2021 at 8:00 PM CST we're going to be offering a class that will teach you how to write adventures for tabletop roleplaying games. In this 10-day course spread over two weeks, you'll learn all the things you need to go from concept to publishing an adventure. That includes:
- Basics of adventure writing
- Planning an adventure
- Planning and balancing encounters
- Published adventure structure
- Written encounter structure
- Markdown formatting for GMBinder
- GMBinder publication
Plus, those who go through the course and produce awesome material will be made paid offers to include their stuff in BroadSword Monthly and within the DMDave content network.
What do I need to bring?
All we really need is your butt in a seat haha!
But you'll also need:
- Anything to take notes
- A good internet connection to watch videos on Discord
- Optional (but helpful): the Fifth Edition core rulebooks (especially the DMG and Monster Manual)

I would love to see these videos. Any chance of them possibly being recorded? I’ve never been a GM before and would love to study up on your advice, but I’m worried that due to time zones and work I won’t be able to attend the sessions live. Even if you gave me only 48 hours to watch each video, that would make a huge difference.
