Sometimes called bone weirds or bonepiles, boneyards are fierce undead creatures imbued with the ferocity of the mightiest dragon and the cunning of an ancient lich. In its resting state, a boneyard resembles a huge pile of bones. However, its fluid nature allows it to take on the form of a mighty serpent, dragon, or any other form it pleases. Although its size varies, "full grown" boneyards are approximately 20-cubic-feet and weigh. While assuming a monstrous form, the boneyard can stand as high as 50 feet and measure 100-feet from "front" to "rear."
Adventurers often mistake these horrors for constructs or mindless undead. This error in judgment frequently leads to the party's destruction—and eventually subsumption. Boneyards use this to their advantage.
It's believed the first boneyard was the result of detroyed lich's bones becoming mixed with the bones of animated skeletons. Some Omerian scholars think boneyards were created by the inaks. However, the chaotic bent possessed by boneyards bucks with the more organized societal constraints of inaki culture. Whatever their origin, they are thankfully rare.
Undead Nature. The boneyard does not require air, food, drink, or sleep.
