Nuckelavees are horrific demons that resemble one-eyed, skinless warhorses. A man's equally skinless torso rises from the center of the creature's equine spine; this torso terminates in a gaping maw, lacking eyes.

Of all the horrible things created to serve the danaavrakti of The Obsidian Plain, nuckelvees are always considered the worst—perhaps even more despicable than the danaavrakti themselves. Nuckelvees led throngs of fiends from the Dripping Portal at Shred into The Wither and through the lands of Aspaeth. Although many of these horrors were destroyed by The Black Three, Loikiel's famous nightmare orb generals, and their bufonem forces, the nuckelavees slew hundreds.

Fearful of their uncontrollable nature, the Striped Conjurers reattuned the Dripping Portal to prevent entry by the nuckelavees. Angered by this betrayal, the remaining nuckelavees swore revenge against their makers, invoking Mal Dreth, the Unbearable Hex. The nuckelavees then fled into a forgotten pocket of The Cruel and haven't been seen since.

A decade after the nuckelavees disappeared, the danaavrakti created a tenuous alliance with a group of Dinzer enchanters to remove all memory of the nuckelavees from the minds of humanoids across Omeria. It's believed that if their true names are ever spoken (fortunately, nuckelavee is not their true name) they will once more return to Omeria at the head of a terrifying fiendish army of their own design.

Demonic Nature. The nuckelavee does not require air or sleep, and it does not age.
