The City of Bygrove

As you probably saw, we just narrowed down the Blackleaf Forest to Wicked Maple Grove. That gave us a number of interesting locations for our campaign. 

While I'm still collecting ideas for the area, I thought I might flesh out one of the major settlements a bit more.

Bygrove is the largest settlement in the Wicked Maple Grove region. I'd guess that it probably makes up for 65% of the population of the region, thus giving it a population of 22,230 humanoids (the entire continent has 3.42 humanoids per square mile, and the Wicked Maple Grove region is roughly 10,000 square miles.

I haven't decided on a government, yet (I'll do a poll for that once we know the demographics), but I thought I'd let the random settlement charts on page 112 of the DMG decide a few features.

• Race Relations (d20 roll, 1). Harmony.
• Ruler's Status (d20 roll, 10). Illegitimate ruler, simmering civil war.
• Notable Traits (d20 roll, 18). Notable library or academy.
• Known For Its (d20 roll, 19). Strong drink.
• Current Calamity (d20 roll, 20). Religious sects struggle for power.

I've identified five major locations in the city. More are sure to come. 

• Academy of Eldaning. Bygrove is known for it's large school and library, the Academy of Eldaning. It is the large building located at town square.
• The Crowned Archer.  The biggest inn in Bygrove, the Crowned Archer is a quiet, low-key establishment.
• Draffin Keep. The large, walled keep at the northeastern edge of town is known as Draffin Keep.
• Greatgate Ward. The southern gate that leads to the Dusk Bridge over the Wicked Maple River exits into the Greatgate Ward.
• The Laughing Lamb. Also known as "the Lamb" to locals, this tavern doubles as a hideout for the local thieves' guild.

Based on what you know of Blackleaf Forest, Wicked Maple Grove, and now these little details, what else would you say is happening in Bygrove?
