Sept 1st update:

-Still bad at keeping up with dev blogs edition

Okay, so the first update for the Carthaginia Mini VN has been released, straight to Steam and Itch.io this time. If you haven’t gotten your keys yet DM me for one on here or on Discord.

The OST for it is also now available on Steam and Bandcamp.

The Salted Cookies of Carthaginia Original Soundtrack | CyberScherzo Studios (bandcamp.com)

Even managed to do a little cross-promo cameo in here with a few other devs.

I would *seriously* appreciate getting more reviews on those sales pages, especially on Steam. I need to have at least 10 reviews on steam to get a rating evaluation (Mostly positive, mixed, mostly negative, etc.) which bumps visibility in the algorithm. Yeah, even "mostly negative" is a small upgrade over "Steam is still learning about this game"

For the NEXT update I’m going to try to release here on Patreon ahead of the planned oct 1st public release. That’s the last planned update for the mini; but I might put down some sales goal stretch goal for doing another expansion. (Like at 2000 steam/itch.io sales adding a new scene) etc.

Otherwise I’ll be shifting focus back to Amaryallis’s episode. *hopefully* development hell on that is coming to an end. The script is a monster compared to all our past releases and there’s still one more route/ending left to write and around 15 CGs that need to be drawn. I might want to put a 2nd artist on the project to speed that along more if I can keep the artstyles compatible.

Getting a little sick of iterating 12312354235 times on this robot design but I *think* we finally nailed a good look for her?

Whadya think?

Speaking of cross promo stuff, I also recently helped Sierra Lee out with editing a trailer for her upcoming RPG: Once Ever After
Once Ever After on Steam (steampowered.com)

So you should totally go watch that trailer with the sound on and bask in my glorious ability to cut gameplay clips kinda sorta almost to musical cues. And wishlist the game while you're at it.

In other news

The whole “episodic” nature of the LBB series isn’t quite panning out the way I’d originally hoped when I’d started it, since I can’t release them as frequently or reliably as I’d wanted. Right now I’d like to test a new approach and I'm planning out a new game that’s specifically in the other direction; a larger ongoing game I can do incremental updates on, potentially weekly but definitely monthly to start.

If that takes off that doesn’t mean I’d be abandoning LBB stuff; far from it, it’s just that I’d aim those more towards Steam and “traditional” releases and try to make those more like “full” games since the ongoing project would be a better container for the “mini-episode” like content.

I’ll share more news about that project once this first batch of concept art comes off the presses, hopefully within the next couple months.

Oh yeah, I also got a little batch of Kanoa emotes for discord. They're on our discord server now. Might start adding a few more emotes of varous characters periodically. Obviously stuff like that hasn't been a priority while playing catchup with the LBB episode content, but I'd still say it was $25 well spent.

Lastly: some bonus art. Not really tied to any upcoming content just some stuff with our characters:
