Mermaid WIP #3 - Tipping the scales
Added 2022-10-25 14:08:42 +0000 UTCGot a little production line of scales for the mermaid's dress going last night. Finished all 9 of the first row on aqua - now I get to do it twice more for the seamfoam and yellow-green layers... 🤪
I am sewing a layer of shiny, sheer lining fabric onto a sturdy, opaque layer of cotton. This way the scales have a sheen to them but the colour isn't muddied with all the layers stacked together. (I had a hard time finding all the colours I needed in a better fabric and didn't feel like dyeing everything 😅)
I just gotta flip them right side out and iron them so they look nice like this one:
