And we're off! The wool and lining materials are cut. Cutting two layers of wool at once was VERY painful, ow.

I'm using Burda Style pattern #7072. I haven't used Burda patterns often, and it's already proving to be a learning experience. But the pattern is basically perfect for her coat, so I won't have to worry about many alterations to the shapes.

I was worried about sewing the wool, but it actually sews nicely. I really like how the coat is coming together so far. :)

The iron-on fusible interfacing to add structure also went on smoothly - I was worried it wouldn't melt onto the wool properly.

I can't wait to see it more in one piece. ❤
