The Annual PSA: PRESS YOUR SEAMS!

In my weekly WIP Wednesday streams on Twitch, I have been working on what I was referring to as the "mock-up" Lenore dress. I am using fabric that has been in my stash for almost a decade (!) to test a sewing pattern.

At first I thought about going through with the whole dress design and saving myself from restarting with accurate fabric. Like a palette swap Lenore. Buuuuut. The skirt isn't full enough and it's... Just. Not. Lenore.

So I have decided to finish up this outfit as a Random Medieval Lady with this amazing boar belt I bought in France. I'll return to Lenore with NEW fabric now that the fabric store is open again - hooray! This dress has been a good way to get me back into the routine. Once I add the sleeves and finish the hem and neckline, I will tuck it aside for a just-for-fun shoot in the future.

NOW. In my photos, I have included a comparison of seams that have been pressed (ironed) vs. ugly ones fresh out of the machine. This is everyone's annual reminder to PRESS YO SEAMS!

Thanks for reading!
