Well I made a video about a tv show I guess

Hello good humans!

It's been a while since I published a video, and I know this won't be everyone's cup of tea... but I've always enjoyed watching other people's in-depth analyses of movies and TV so I thought I'd have fun and try something new.

I'm meh about most TV and movies, but I just watched The Witcher and really appreciated how every moment of the first episode serves multiple purposes, which is always how I like to produce. In 18 minutes I managed to cover the first two minutes of the episode, which includes one entire line of dialogue. I also included a re-edit from a different perspective.

It feels a bit strange to be posting something like this: something largely unscripted, based on recent IP, and that took only 10 hours to produce, but maybe it's less weird than I think. After all, overthinking things is my job, and I have expertise in video production (even if not TV production), so analyzing a video production makes sense I guess?

I dunno, I hope you find it interesting if you're interested!

I get this. Thank you. There's always a second layer of dialogue that is never spoken, but is loud and clear, when you start paying attention to that secondary bandwidth. When a person in a conversation falls silent, they become the loudest thing in the room.

If I ever make an analysis of that song, one of the things to notice is that "friend of humanity" still implies otherness, a friend but not part. Your song would recognize and gently place you in the midst of the diverse ponderous humanity you and all the rest of us co-create.

Witcher helps me imagine that with the right song I might be able to feel like a friend of humanity. And reminds me that I would not believe the text of such a song when I first hear it. I noticed his smelling but I didn't read it so literally. I saw the way he used it to know things other people believed were secret and I thought about the way I talk about smelling feelings. That I can smell them via SMS in eyebrow geometry and the scent lets me know things that aren't part of the plain text. I also sometimes want people to smell mine when I want their attention on a thing and cannot get them to hear or see it. Sometimes I can get people to pay attention to their feels smeller for a second and redirect their broader perception with it.

As someone who delights in video essay review genre, I am 100% on board for further episodes of "Vi Hart Overanalyzes ____". Really loved this, thanks!
