We did it! New video! Mugs! Bagels! Peachy Rings! Toroidal Graphs!
#3 on my "what videos can I make quickly" experiment is response/puzzle commentary, in this case in response to this collab by 3blue1brown: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VvCytJvd4H0
What I learned is that this kind of video is not a 1 or 2-day video, it is a one-week video. The script was fairly quick to write, but not as quick as Spidermath because SOMEONE just HAD to try to actually explain things and demonstrate things and tell at least a little bit of a story, and then there were materials to source, and lots of filming time because SOMEONE decided it was a good idea to draw all over a bagel and peachy rings and mugs and paper and everywhere.
So, I like the video but it doesn't fit the "what can I do fast to leave time for longer deeper work" plan. Lessons learned, and that's why I'm experimenting with a bunch of different things this month!
I also always underestimate the time it takes to upload, assemble thumbnails and descriptions and links, double-check my sources and references and titles and tags and captions, social the medias, post the posts, etc.
But this week has some great links and references!

Susan has also collected a page of other artistic renditions of the 7-color torus and links to instructions for beadwork, fiber arts, and other further reading: http://faculty.smcm.edu/sgoldstine/torus7.html
This video not sponsored by or affiliated with mathsgear, but here's where they sell the official version of the mug: https://mathsgear.co.uk/products/utilities-puzzle-mug
Honestly, mathsgear has some cool stuff. I know I should be selling and promoting my own merch but I've been a little busy drawing on bagels.
But, we did put in the order for the Tau Day shirts last week, so they're at the printers and should ship out by the end of the month. We ordered some extra which are still available while they last: https://store.dftba.com/collections/vi-hart
Ok, I'm gonna post the post now!
