I bought a new car!!

It's from the 90s. Those are coin holders for paying at tolls and also Toyota was like "what can we put here to fill this blank space". Those things in the back doors are ash trays. The trunk not opening all the way is because of the old gas springs. You can go online and buy replacements for around $15-60 for a set. You might have to buy it by length and force if you can only find ones over that price. Buying something vehicle specific makes it cost 3x for some reason these days

Oh young people. The slots in the front are for coins. The compartment with the lid in the doors are ashtrays.

well the first thing u should have never bought a 31 yr old Toyota without looking at the frame they love to rust hopefully you didn't pay more than 2 grand

Andrew

They're gas shocks and the gas has leaked out over time, replace them. Common problem on cars of that era.

Nar

I love that by the end they're both just shadows. Now I eagerly await the camping vid

Gas springs for the rear hatch are an easy fix

The rear liftgate support struts are prolly just weak from being old. Your local parts store should be able to get them, usually only 20 or 30 bucks each and they most likely just have a lil metal clip holding them in and the new ones snap in.

Bring it to our weekly classic Japanese car meet in the valley. DM me if you are interested. There a few Lexus/Cruiser owners that show up. They have a lot of knowledge.

Are you a couple now?> I'm so confused.

Andrew Wick

ok so just so I know...

Okay, I came back and finished the video, and seriously, this looks like an ex-family wagon. The stains in the rear, rear seats are probably chocolate and juice and stuff from kids riding in back. If this was a baller's wagon, or even an off road adventurer, those rear seats would have been lost in the back of a garage years ago. Any 30 year old vehicle that's been used will have evidence of use - yoink those rear seats out, give everything else a wipe down, learn how to use analogue controls, and enjoy the hell out of your truck.

Hello from New Zealand. That's a good purchase except that the steering wheel is on the wrong side of the car.
