The Daughter Problem

Marcus kicked off his shoes and dropped the briefcase by the door.  Work was long and tedious, as it was every day of the week.  And for what?  He couldn't even afford his house if it wasn't for his father-in-law.  Luckily for Marcus, he married into a rich family.  But he often felt so guilty that he couldn't provide for his wife like a real man. "Honey?  Is that you?" "Yeah, it's me," Marcus called from the foyer, following his wife's voice into the first-story bedroom.  She was as beautiful as ever, with long auburn hair and the smile of an angel.  But today, she was holding a fancy tiara in her hands.  Something else he couldn't afford, he was sure.

~~~
"Isn't this pretty?" She had mischief in her eyes as she toyed with the silver over her fingertips, the delicate details of the tiara catching the light of the bedroom.
"Do you know what this is, Marcus?" Was that a trick question?
~~~

"Uh... a tiara?" It had beautiful pink jewels inlaid into a gorgeous silver frame.  Actually, it almost looked like a child's toy if it wasn't so expensive-looking. "Did you buy that with our account?  I told you to check with me before you did stuff like that..." I sighed, rubbing my eyes with my thumbs.

~~~
"Actually, it's a prototype - and I'm getting to borrow it for free for testing - but if I can get ten people to try it on, they said I get to keep it. And I know you've been broke and we've been struggling, so I thought why not? I've tried it on, and so has my Mom, so now it's your turn."
~~~

"Uh, I don't think it's my style," I joked, but she gave me a serious look. "Marcus, it's not optional." I let out a sigh of exhaustion and crossed the room, taking the tiara out of her hands.  Honestly, she could be so pushy sometimes... if only she had an off switch.  I raised the tiara above my head set it down on my short hair.  Then, suddenly, I felt very strange... my head started to spin and I closed my eyes tight to keep my balance.

~~~
She crossed her arms while the transformation took place, wisps of pink smoke hazing up and around the figure that had once been her husband - it had happened a lot quicker than she'd thought it would, too! Like a sneeze, more than like a process. She looked down at him - at her, honestly - and clapped her hands. "There we go! Now I've solved the daughter problem that you never seemed to be able to give me!"
~~~

"D-daughter?" My voice squeaked, high-pitched and unfamiliar.  I looked up at my wife - towering over me with the bright smile on her face - and then down at my hands.  I was... small!  Small, short, pudgy, and wearing a frilly purple dress.  I felt the thick padding of a diaper between my thighs and felt tears in my eyes.  How... what?! "B-but I'm a grown man!" I threw the tiara off my head, but it didn't change me back.

~~~
"Not anymore you aren't!" She wasn't vindictive about it, but there was a certain smugness there. "And I don't even like men, Marcus! I've been in love with Ana for years and /she/ can support us both, but she didn't want a man in her life - you know how she is. So now I have a daughter, and we can all finally be happy."
