Hannah's final photo-set this season is a portrait set that takes increasingly direct inspiration from the paintings of contemporary Belgium painter Michaël Borremans, in particular paintings like The Ear (II), below. Borremans' paintings often have an element of discomfort or strangeness about them and that led us to introduce the knife into some of the photos, reminiscent of the film Pearl, which we had all watched together at Ben Skinner's film club the previous year. As such, this weeks recommended watching (for anybody with a strong stomach, keen on off-beat horror movies) is that film, linked below.
