Experimental life drawing: collages & cutouts

Here is the recording of our latest online experimental life drawing session, led by artist and host of Portrait Club, Emma Prothero. This replay was recorded at the live online class and contains all the info you need to take part in this one-off session focusing on approaches to using collage in a life drawing session. Materials you’ll need

A selection of Paper & Collage Materials, such as:

• Plain paper

• Coloured paper

• Tracing paper

• Pre-prepared painted sheets or recycled artwork

• Magazine cutouts

• Wrapping paper!

Drawing & Mark-Making Tools:

• Dry drawing tools such as a pen or pencil

• Smudgeable drawing tools such as charcoal, chalk or soft pastels.

• Fast-drying paint such as acrylic, gouache, watercolour, or ink.

• A paintbrush

Cutting and Assembling Tools :

• A craft knife (with a cutting mat for safety)

• Scissors

• A ruler

• Glue sticks, PVA glue, or tape
