Hey all - welcome back to another slot in session - and our first sci-fi themed adventure! This one is designed for 4-6 players of level 5! Let's have a look at the story, shall we?
Blue-7 is a research facility set up by military command on the far side of a forgotten, brown-orange planet. The base is surrounded by rocks and clumps of white-yellow mushrooms. Blue-7’s purpose is to study the local fungus, which can bond with living hosts. Early experiments showed that the bond increases physical reflexes and strength, but over time, the host's mind declines, turning them into a mindless, passive corpse.
The military wants to weaponise the fungus. There are plans for combat drugs and hybrid soldiers. To support planetary research operations, a military outpost has been established on the surface, along with a space station that keeps the planet quarantined and acts as a heavy backup. All transport and supplies pass through orbital command.
Unfortunately, the local wildlife reacted violently to the new building. Large, moss-covered predators prowled the perimeter at night, but failed to damage the reinforced walls and doors. The attacks became so routine that the base staff learnt to ignore them, especially since the creatures never attacked during the day.
Everything has been running smoothly.
Until now. The main console displays "Signal Lost", cutting off all communication with the outside. The animal attacks have stopped. No wildlife can be seen anywhere near the base.
The normal protocol is to wait for communication to be reestablished. Nothing on the planet should be able to breach the plasteel walls.
So why are there deep claw marks in the main door?
