How long does it take for you to prepare your sessions?
Added 2024-06-02 10:25:31 +0000 UTCJust a lil fun poll because I'm curious. How long does it take for you to say prep a 3-4 hour session?

I found a great model to trim down prep time on a session, helps keep it open-ended and flexible. World building and all that is its own beast, but prepping a session in a world I'm already building takes *about* two hours with a little over. (Great maps really, really help cut down that time, so THANK YOU.) Honestly, the recap takes as long as anything else-- making sure all the PCs are mentioned, and asked an immersive question to get 'em back in PC headspace as we 'lock in'.

2024-06-03 10:31:03 +0000 UTCAbsolute mood - I do tend to spend around a week to make it...but generally 3-4 evenings in a week - there's probably a reason I burned out so quickly XD

2024-06-02 12:41:40 +0000 UTCI vary by game and session. My current V5 game, I spent most of a month pre-planning and prepping for Session 0 and Session 1.. and since then, most sessions have been an hour at most, and often 0 prep. My The Crow game has been fairly 0 prep, but I need to change that, because I f'ed up. My One-shots usually get several hours or none at all, depending in what the group is looking for.

2024-06-02 10:30:03 +0000 UTCI mean, it's kinda up to every DM. I've seen guys that spend about a month preparing every session on Foundry, and they automatize everything in game so they don't even have to speak. But there's also people who lets everything to dices and randomness
