A Heart-To-Heart!
Added 2024-05-06 19:18:07 +0000 UTCHey all! I kinda wanted to share this with my paid members first before this goes ahead in the coming months - moreso as a trial period....so this isn't currently set in stone. Although needless to say I have been procrastinating this post a bit.
Over the past couple of years, I've been trying to see where I fit in the vast sea of TTRPG creators, especially fellow mapmakers. And honestly, it's been a bit of a difficult one...and is in part, why my releases change so much and my projects seem random....well because they are.
However, I've started to find my feet in the past few months between my previous two Kickstarter campaigns and my freelance writing for AAW Games (yes, I do this on the side as well...but is more of a casual role). A lot of this work I wouldn't have had the confidence to do or the time without my partner and my friend at the time - who helped me with both projects.
So anyway, enough waffling! Where do I fit? What would change?
Until the end of the year, the 10th and 20th of the month will remain exactly the same. I will focus on my own maps for the 10th, and you guys get to bring ideas to the table, and vote on them for the 20th. I love this setup so much!
After the Mage Academy series finishes up in June, I will bring in a trial period, which will bring in some writing in the form of Snowy's slot-in-sessions. These will be short quests/oneshots that focus on creating content for DMs in the level ranges of 1-10 for DnD5e. I hope to bring out an example for you all within the next month or so.
This will be aimed at minimising prep for GMs and filling in sessions where you may struggle for ideas. For example, a bandit hideout with some custom monsters, puzzles and the like, all importable via a single FoundryVTT module (and available as a PDF as well).
I have no idea whether this will take off or not, but does show promise (been doing a little bit of research into it). If it doesn't, I will probably just keep the writing to KS projects and maps to here...but we will see.
I'd love to hear your opinions as my paid members. You allow me to keep going! ^^
Thanks all once again.
~Snowy

2024-05-06 21:36:54 +0000 UTCNo worries! I didn't make this decision lightly as I wanted a compromise between the writing and the maps. I know for a fact everyone is currently here for the maps, so I don't want to drop them (especially as I still love making maps)! Thank you for the feedback! And feel free to ask any questions π

2024-05-06 21:35:47 +0000 UTCI could see this go both ways so I will need to see the finish product before an accurate judgement. But I did sub for your maps and will do so as long as you turn out quality stuff

2024-05-06 19:29:37 +0000 UTCThis sounds like a great idea! Iβm excited to see what you write as you go down this path and am looking forward to finding ways to fit what you write into my home games.
