Generalists vs Specialists

There are two types of infected in the Growing Pandemic, more than 80% of which are made up of Generalists. More commonly known as the Null Infected, they make up the majority of the infected horde.   

They are called Generalists because there is nothing special that sets them apart from each other. In contrast, the Specialists, which make up the remaining infected, have unique traits and mutations that make them particularly well suited to a particular task, or set of affinities. (More on this later.)  

Null Infected, the Generalists

To call them Null is sort of misleading. It really just comes down to the fact they are incomplete, lacking the final key piece that would turn them into a specialist.   

When a Null infects an uninfected, that uninfected also becomes a Null. It is also worth noting some specialists only create Null Infected, and other conditions must be fulfilled to become that specialist type.  

Null are also varied amongst each other, so much so, it is extremely difficult to say they are of a particular size, or endowment. Some look almost identical to an uninfected, others look more like the specialists, just lacking mutations.  

Mentally, they all are experiencing differing levels of the Haze's corruptive influence. (The Haze being the lustful stupor that clouds inhibition and judgement, while riling infected into a sexual frenzy, all for the purpose of spreading their contamination to others.) 

It's possible you may encounter an enormous infected-like Null that is still resisting the influence of the Haze. There is also the possibility you may encounter a normal uninfected-like Null that is fully embracing the Haze. It all really just depends on how they've chosen to embrace their newly infected life, their whims, and their vision of themselves.  

The infection itself acts on what I call Affinity.

Affinity

This is all the things you're attracted to and more. The kinks, the turn-ons, the things that make you horny, and even the things you have yet to explore.  

When this infection enters your body, you become the switchboard for it to press every little button until your brain is lusty mush.  

People with a strong willpower can for a time resist the effects of the haze, but strong resistance only alerts other infected of the abnormality, and they will eventually find and help with the process of your hazing.  

Affinity is also the process by which a Generalist may become a Specialist. Infected kind of recognize each other on a subconscious. Infected of similar affinities tend to congregate around one another, which in turn sort of creates a beacon for even uninfected to be drawn in.   

There is a current, a sort of electricity that runs through contaminated ground. While it doesn't infect the uninfected it does interact with their body. It can influence their sense of direction, and even lead them straight to the den of infected sharing a similar affinity. A temptation that can be difficult to turn away from.  

Deviant Affinity

There are Deviant Affinities... which I will make an important note that many of which will never make any appearance in my Growing Pandemic. (LOOKING DIRECTLY AT YOU CUB PORN SICKOS.)  

That being said, there are many kinks/fetishes that I haven't particularly created an infected for yet. This "Deviant Affinity", is what gives rise to new specialist mutations and combinations within the Growing Pandemic. Even amongst existing strains, deviations are not uncommon.  This is mostly due to the nature of the Originator, the Infected God.

All and None

The Originator, or Shifter, is all strains, but none. He is endless possibilities, but singular. It is why he's referred to as the Infected God. Because of this nature, and his control of the Growing Pandemic, there are limitless possibilities, should he allow it's continued existence.  

There are instances where strains have been culled because they displease him. Pedophiles were one such example, and he had little tolerance for that.
