Dev Update 12/19/22

Hey, friends! Hope everyone's week is off to a great start!

First of all - wow! Response to Chapter Four: Part One has been really great. By far the warmest reception of any update I've done so far. Which is funny because it was definitely the one I had the most concerns about.
"Is it long enough? Is there enough content? Should I just wait until the whole thing is done and drop the update?"

But, everyone was incredibly generous with their praise, and we saw a bunch of new members join the Patreon - to whom I say, "Welcome!" Glad to have you folks, here. Also? After a slog of a development cycle, all the kind words and support really recharged my batteries. The past two days saw me working on scripts and renders until midnight, just because I was feeling so invigorated.

As a creative type, sometimes it can feel like you're working in a void, with no clue as to whether the process is going well or not. But, just having people reach out and offer encouragement, speculate on fan theories, and talk about their favorite characters is a huge boost to morale. So as always, thank you.

Moving right along! I've got a good portion of Part Two written, so I'm jumping into the rendering with both feet. I really would love to have Part Two out before the end of January, but we'll have to see how it goes. It covers a lot of ground, and touches a bunch of characters - Carolina, Nicki, Pepper, Gabby, Mason, Madison, and more. But, I'm hoping I can blitz through rendering some of the more straightforward scenes, while I continue writing Ashe's rather complicated date scene. In all likelihood I'll work on rendering the bulk of that date scene last, just because it's going to be a good bit of work.

But, as you can see up top, I've got a nice little jump on the next installment. I'm about 40 renders in, at the moment. Carolina's one of those characters I didn't initially plan to include in the story, and then I didn't intend to make her a main cast member, and now I can't wait until she shows up each chapter. This installment will see her robotic facade crumble a bit, bringing her a little closer to our irascible anti-hero. We might even see the return -- of NickiZilla!

Besides that - no news! Just working, working, working.

But, two quick shout-outs. And as always, these aren't paid for or requested by the creators, I just really like their work, and I like to share stuff I'm enjoying.

I recently started following the work of artist Felisamos, who has a Patreon over here. They're doing this really cool little story (told in short vignettes) about a group of girls who are sex workers on a cruise for the wealthy and powerful - it's funny, it's sad, it's dramatic, and also? Pretty sexy! I absolutely love their drawing style, and the fact they're using erotica to tell a serious, nuanced story. You can see some of their NSFW work on their Twitter.

Also! My friend HorizonticalStudios recently released a new update of their game, The Regional Manager. They've been a big booster of my work since the beginning (even rendering the first chapter for me!), so I'm always happy to give them a shout-out. But, more importantly, this chapter has a brief camero appearance from a certain guy we all love to hate.
