New Major Optimization for M.S.C.

Dear patrons, optimization has always been a huge deal for me. I know there are still plenty of small bugs, but a few of them really drove me crazy.

I spent a sleepless day digging into the problem and actually learned a lot.

The first issue was the game size vs. quality loss. It always felt like I had to choose one or the other.

The second was the flickering in videos during loops. It completely ruined the immersion.

The third is the gallery… but that one will have to wait for now. I might even make it fully open later, as a kind of “spoiler” of what has happened or will happen in M.S.C. Part 1.

The rest of the issues were tolerable and got fixed in later versions anyway.

But I think I finally managed to solve the first two. The result isn’t the smallest game build ever, but compared to the original 14GB, the new optimized version is only 3.2GB with almost no quality loss — that’s a huge difference. In the future, I might try even more aggressive optimization with some quality trade-offs (for Android, for example, or for those who don’t care much about image detail).

And videos? They no longer flicker to a black screen — finally! (All it took was going frame by frame and rebuilding them through the console… a nightmare, but worth it.)

Honestly, I think this is a great reason for anyone who really enjoys Medical Special Care to replay it from the beginning.

For my Sheikhs who skipped the FULL version because of the massive size (plus I fixed a few bugs), and for the Professionals — I definitely recommend trying this optimized build of M.S.C. version 0.75.
