Have You Seen The Thing With Red Eyes?

Okay okay so I used to have a dark figure much like this only with yellow eyes in different shapes and forms that shared my room at night with me. It followed me all the way to college to where I just gave up and accepted that I have to coexist with it. Found out that I wasn't the only one after telling my (real life) ghost story at a party one night. The morning after I did more research and came up with these figures being the true etymology of the word "nightmare" a sleep demon that feeds off of people's energy while they're sleeping and in turn gifts you horrific visuals when you're energy is being drained. Crazy stuff y'all.

*Repressed Trama unlocked* I saw a figure simlar to this in my childhood. I was on my lower bunk and couldn't sleep one night. This was absolutely odd for elementary school me. Unsure what to do, I decided lean my head all the way back to look out the window (we just spent the day moving the bed to the middle of the room.) Instead of seeing glorious downtown New York City, there is a giant dark figure with red eyes. I dart my head down like "No Way! That couldn't be real!" & "Well maybe it thinks im still sleeping and just moved!" I thought I was so smooth, so stealthy. I gathered my courage to look up again but this time, I was going to pretend to yawn to signify I was still sleeping (I was 7). So I sneak another peek and there is still was. Giant ruby red eyes and a shape simlar to donkey kong...Looking straight at me. I was freaking out (internally). So I had a decision to make, 1. Run out the room & leave my cousin to his doom 2. Stay in the room & leave it up to fate. (Waking everyone up was not an option cause either every would get killed by it or worst, imma get in trouble.) So weighing the options in my mind, also remember my cousin beat me in a game earlier that day, I run out to the living room. Luckily, my older sister fell asleep on the couch, probably from waiting daria. Throwing the blanket and myself on the floor under her, I ball up to feel protected. After a moment of feeling safe I peek out down the hallway. Big ruby eyes stare back. I pull the cover back accepting my death. ...I feel a heavy hit on my side. The safety blanket being ripped off me. "Oh! I'm sorry" the sunlight hits my face. I've survived the night. My sister continues to run off to the bathroom. I thought to myself maybe it was just a dream. But...I am literally in a different room. Definitely never told people about this, thanks for the kick in the brain. Ill be terrified tonight.

This freaked me out. Two weeks ago my boyfriend and I saw a figure like this on the side of the road... no red eyes, but the body is eerily similar. Like we freaked out and can't logically explain it, but we both saw it and it was not a human or animal...

I have a distinct memory of sleeping on the couch as a child (my bedroom was being painted and my parents were worried about fumes) and I saw a man in a top hat walk past the window! I just assumed he was a ghost but the top hat didn’t make sense for the area

When I was 12 I was forced to stay with this relief family for a weekend, I was sleeping in one of the girls bedroom, on the floor in a sleeping bag. I woke up because I felt something at my feet and saw a black shadow figure with red eyes staring at me. I was so scared I pulled the sleeping bag over my head, but I don't remember when I fell asleep again, I just remember waking up the next morning and it was gone. A few years later I read articles about shadow men/people, usually with hats, and remembered back to the incident. Later, a couple of years again I discussed shadow people with friends and one of them asked if it had a hat and I said no, but it had red eyes. And she went pale and said "that's not good", I was perplexed and got really uneasy, and I still think of it sometimes. I just hope I never see it again.

There is a famous shadow person known as "The Hat Man." When I was younger I would see him outside when I would play. Just a shadow of a man with a top hat. When I finally got the internet I was on a site about ghost and someone has drew exactly what I saw when I was younger. It had a note that said" When I was younger I would see this, I'm 35 now." a few years later I was telling this story to a friend's boyfriend, he was like 6'7" and 400lbs. The color drained from his face and he got chills. Apparently his sister's snuck out one night and this shadow person was following them. When they snuck back into the window it said, "Next time your mine." fast forward on a deep dive, apparently it's a demon that targets children... Idk creepy, I know several people have seen him, friends and countless people on the internet.

Yup. Seen the same amorphous black fog in the shape of a man with red eyes before… last time it was at the foot of my bed…. Just watching…. waiting….
