Here's some concept art for book 2 for you all! It's a bit spoilerish, maybe, but I'll let you try to figure out what led to this xD
This is yet another experiment with style, light and color. I tried to create something slightly based on the Shut Eye animatic and see what kind of emotions I could evoke with it. I'd absolutely LOVE to hear your thoughts on it!

Beautiful lighting and atmosphere in this one! It certainly does give a sense of Steban being lost in his own mind, alone with his thoughts as the days slowly creep by toward his eventual release, and whatever may come after that. Now I can only wonder why he's locked up here, and what's going to happen to him once he's finally let out. So many possibilities when the sheriff and a powerful local leader both harbor personal grudges against you 🤔 Can't wait to see how this might tie into the story!

Poor Steban must’ve had a lot of reflect on in prison. I really am a fan of the lighting. The moody dark purples almost provide a grayscale tone in the jail cell, reflecting Steban’s dying sense of hope. Could Martin also be in the cell with him? I suspect he got caught with the compass by Baltazar right after the Scorpion attack
