I know 2021 wasn't much kinder than 2020 for many, but things are slowly getting better and I'm so hopeful that this whole situation is finally coming to an end.
I decided to make a little "comic script preview" like the ones I've been seeing on Deviantart! So here are a few lines you'll be reading in the second issue of No North 👀 what do you think they mean? Who do you think is saying them?
I'm so thankful for everything this year. Being able to work on No North was the greatest gift I could have asked for - and I owe it all to you. I started actively working on this story (not counting Up and Ahead) back in 2016. Yes, 7 years later and I'm FINALLY drawing it! Many people stopped believing in this project during this time (I can't blame them) but you guys stayed. You believed in this, and thanks to you, the first issue has actually been completed!
Each comment you left me during this year, each and every kind word overwhelmed me with joy and fuelled my will to continue on. There are no words that can describe what that feels like. Just how thankful I am to have you all - sometimes I find it hard to believe it! You are some of the best people I have ever met, even though we have never met personally (can you imagine if we all went on a weekend camping trip? HAHA) I feel so lucky to have you with me for the ride!
I really really hope that I can bring you more content that you enjoy in 2022. Way more No North pages and hopefully a whole new issue as soon as I can! Your support meant literally everything to me in 2021. I can't say that enough. Thank you for everything you did this year.
May this New Year bring you joy, fulfilled dreams, good health, FREEDOM and many, many wonderful adventures!!!

Let me just say that your mind is such an overflowing well of creativity, talent, and imagination! I just can't fathom how one person can be the source of something so incredible! I may have only been following this project for a relatively short time, but I've already become deeply invested in it. This world you've created, it's underlying themes, and how it speaks to me is something very profound, and has even prompted me to reflect on my own life and seek to "follow my own north". I think that may be the highest compliment I can pay you as an artist, writer, and creator, and I certainly hope it is! Furthermore, I've found a wonderful little community surrounding your work and a lot of great people within it! I've said it before, and I'll say it again, this is a ride I wouldn't miss for anything! And to paraphrase another patron, No North isn't just a comic, it's a journey - a journey that we are all a part of. I feel like it's something bigger than all of us. I hope that I'll continue to be with you for a long time to come Skailla, and I certainly intend to see this story through to its conclusion. I want to be there with you every step of the way, and I hope you achieve the greatest possible success as we go forward on this journey together!
