Personality: When the sun goes down, at the very back of the Red Sky Saloon, you can always find this loner having a drink by himself. Extremely superstitious, Sam won’t waste a minute in telling other dogs about the strange happenings around Oddwind, about every eerie sight and unknown figure in the haze. He is a stern and hardworking dog, and even as rumours spread about his declining mental state, he continues to fight to keep his status. He is intelligent and serious, but too stubborn and close-minded for his own good. His obsession and ever-growing fear over the unknown is real, but it deeply saddens him not to be taken seriously by his former companions. Deep down, he knows that what he’s saying is true, and dogs should listen while they still can. 

Background: Sam’s obsession over these stories are not unjustified. His wife and his father went missing when his son, Edgar, was just a small pup, and he was left with a thousand unanswered questions. To give his son a better life, he renewed the old hotel into The Grand Hotel and spent his life building his business. He was certain that his only son would proudly assume it after him, but Edgar only seems interested in building gadgets and useless inventions. Their relationship is a difficult one, but they love each other. Sam still hopes that someday, someone will at least bring them answers. 

Relations: Edgar’s father. Used to be good friends with Roy, Warren and Margaret. 

Trivia: 

- There’s nothing physically wrong with his eye, but for some reason he just keeps it shut most of the time, only opening it in moments of deep surprise.
