CYOA #5: BIGSTARS, PART 8 (+INT. 2 POLL)

Whew! Geez, just made it! Had to rewrite this twice, due to continuity errors! Even started a dedicated timeline to make sure things stayed clear XD

Also, it's a biggun, huge shock >.> Here's the second to last poll!! Do your worst! >=3 Who's literally getting the biggest, in order of votes? Simple and direct! It's multiple choice, so don't be afraid to cover everyone as much as you want, we're nearing the end!

Comments

Before the polling ended, I voted for Yahya and Pina as well, so they wouldn't get left out. Still didn't take back any of my earlier votes.

Mr. McTIM

AGREEEEEED

Dnapalmhead

Aww, Gosha deserves to be massive too D:

Keiros

Sometimes it's hard not to let some characters ultraboom to god sizes faster...but a slower burn felt better here, for sure <=3 Thanks!

Oh man, where to even begin! So many really fantastic parts in this story I can't hit on all of them. There's nothing quite like a bunch of adolescent teenaged anthro animals blowing up in size eh?? I also really enjoy how this story has stayed a little more grounded in size, not just immediately outgrowing the whole planet. Reminds me of the Einstein story where it actually feels like there are things at stake as they try to stop him from becoming a worldwide event (not that I dislike outgrowing all of space! I enjoy that we get both equally well done by you.) Also very much enjoying the hyper sizes we voted for everyone, it really adds some extra "energy" into the size :) Just an all-around fantastic chapter, one of my favorites of yours already!

Bill: The spirit is willing but the flesh is spongy and bruised Cosmo: *Triples in size* AGAIN Bill: *Triples in size to match her* Can I at least be on top this time?

Chumlee99

He's...a MAYUN!

Dnapalmhead

Cosmo: *grabs him* Alright, enough games. You, me, NOW! Bill: *Scaroused noises as Cosmo drags him off for snu snu and they both keep growing*

Chumlee99

There's plenty of time! I extended it a few days, since the beginning of the month can be hectic for folks ^^ Really glad you enjoyed! I want the stakes and spectacle to raise, without it losing that precious bit of grounding X3

Sheesh, two rewrites and the need for a dedicated timeline. It's no wonder this took a while to be done. (Though I do know the Holiday Season put a lot on hold. With it being a wonderful reason to do so. I don't count a month, from here to the last story post, because of the Holiday Season.) And all I can say is: It's another amazing addition, to an ever-growing, expansive, series. As someone how wants to have his own series take off, I really hope I can get my series to go as well as how you write stories. And as I hope for the same praise for my work, I'm happy to give credit where it's due, to others. Problem is, I don't have enough praise to make due with the quality of this story. But I'll try with what I got. Saatchi already explained a lot of the specifics again, and I agree with them again. I've already stated that I didn't want Riz to win, and after he did, was curious as to how you'd fit him into the story. One phrase: "Like the last puzzle piece." Having his source of growth was random but well placed. His meat-craze, pain induced frenzy, and how he set that tension as he kept growing, was also well placed. I now see that Ten wasn't the better choice. (Though it would've been fun to see how you'd do her AND Riz.) And you played into Riz's addition perfectly. Along with reintroducing the last of the other characters. Including another "actual" sleeping giant. That'll soon wake up. (Seriously, I was getting nervous when it explained what was happening with him.) And even with the over-the-top situations occurring, it all STILL felt like another official Beastars adventure. The plot and explanations of things as it progressed still had that same feel. The characters were on point with how they'd behave. And how they interacted with each other, in cases where it NEVER happened official, still felt official. It needed to be said again. This was work well spent, and the result show just as big as any character's growth. As for this poll, I'm not quite sure who to pick. I've picked some already, with it being every Female character; along Legoshi, Louis, and Jack. But I'm not sure if I want to stop there. Under no circumstance will I take back any of my current choices. And I have a week to decide, so I'll think it over, then see if I add anyone else.

Mr. McTIM

“Stories rarely get the same reaction as art” BOY DO I FEEL THAT PAIN!! However the promise of super big deer is a balm for that pain, thank you for this (again).

Saatchi & Co

Wowzers, thank you again >////> Just happy you're enjoying it still! Stories rarely get the same reaction as art, so it really means a lot when it seems like it's connecting to anyone ^^ And yes...we're getting big deer while we can! SUPER-BIG!

Alright, it’s been a long time coming, the hype has been building. Growing. Swelling unfathomably with each non-Bigstars post. Could it possibly live up to bulging expectation? The short answer is yes. The long answer is that, wow! Just wow. What a treat for the eyes. A feast for the soul. Once again, you’ve outdone yourself as you have with each successive addition. I love the way you go back to previous characters at an earlier point in the story just to fill in the gaps around their appearances later on, much as you did with Oguma here. He had such a bulky presence in the last chapter, and it was great to harken back to when he first got free of the pit and headed to meet the mishmash of heroes at the base. It was great to see that we’re getting to know what caused the growth in the first place. Without it being a distraction to the absolute buffet of growth this chapter brought for us. I love little things that make the world a little bigger or more interesting, so this former medicine turned growth trigger is fascinating. Seeing more Cosmo is always a delight and the way she played off Bill made him a wonderful foil for her. I love that she can’t turn “Black Market Cosmo” off and always has to remind Carnivores of their place around her. Was nice to see Mizuchi again too, but it was even more fun to see her finally get what she wanted, only to have defeat snatched from the jaws of victory. I’d say poor thing, but given what she’s done to Haru (especially in your series?) yeah, that’s karma imo. But best of all, the absolute crowning achievement of this story? The characterisation of Louis. In earlier chapters I thought he was starting to drift off-character in terms of attitude, but here things are fully back on track. You’ve turned his inferiority and his begrudging acceptance of Legosi into perfect triggers to bring about this turn of events. His ego dominating even more than it did back when he was lead of the Drama Club’s actors. The way he broods on Legosi’s growth, the blink and you’ll miss it addition of Jack further fuelling his righteous fury. It’s become a perfect storm that I am so delighted to have watched develop. But out of everything, those final moments, the rate of Louis’ growth and those descriptions of how he affects things without even moving. Pure cinema. Art of the highest order. Worthy of the coveted chef’s kiss. I know Legosi will likely win the poll for the next part, but I can only hope Louis gets suitably massive before then. If only because his fury will at least help him keep some sort of pace with the wolf (and make for more wonderful storytelling)! Also you got a good laugh out of me at the end. As collar-tuggingly good as it was to read the word “god” coming from Oguma and being in relation to Louis; I couldn’t help but picture Oguma like the sickos “Yes…haha…YES!!” meme during the whole thing. Curiously though, I notice a certain non-fruit non-vegetable is missing from the poll list. This can only mean enormous things are coming and I for one, welcome our new crazed sociopathic overlord, however short his tenure may be. In short but not as short as the first response, but not as long as the second response: This story series has been a blessing. You are a treasure. Keep doing what you’re doing and remember to do as Louis does (I.e keep growing and improving!) and I’ll see you for the next one!
