Another attempt to make a preview build without all the bugs

UPD: Attached a new preview136 build, not really worthy of its own post, but with a few changes: issue with physics when some modded cars wouldn’t drive is fixed, new driver tags distortion fixed properly this time, GrassFX air disturbance fixed, audio buttons got a volume +/− mode, clouds missing in WeatherFX in some configurations fixed, ksAlphaRef not working properly for shadows fixed, scriptable displays now can load fonts from extension folders and modify shadow casting and transparent flags for scene meshes, rare issue with FSR+HDR resulting in black screen fixed, track displays (with cameras) now can use conditions for most parameters, issue with rain tyres not creating a pattern on some cars fixed.

Here is a new build with more things fixed. I really hope it would be good enough to become a proper stable update, but let’s see. 😅

Also, it’s not just fixes, but quite a few new things as well. Main change is that Lua scripts got a lot of extensions — new APIs, new functions and optimizations, more applications. For example now car scripts can load custom soundbanks, create and control lights and audio events, alter material properties and move meshes (currently would only work for player’s car, but might be useful to add extra interior audio events). Tracks got similar scripting system with dynamic textures (and audio, lights, etc.), should be great for recreating digital displays or, for example, flashing lights with more complex logic (like traffic lights or speed traps with a flash). WeatherFX controllers now can send web requests, and there is already a default controller using OpenWeatherAPI to get real conditions changing during the race.

Another new thing is Lua apps — now it’s possible to use Lua to create new in-game apps using those new IMGUI controls for faster and smoother user experience. There is also a special feature for such apps allowing them to create a full-screen HUDs without having user move windows around, with custom virtual mirrors and more. Also those new Lua apps can also render simple debug shapes in the world, that should be good for creating some helper tools (and there is also an alternative way to create Lua tools as a part of Objects Inspector tools set). And to top things off, Lua apps can have dynamic icons, might be helpful for some notification-like indicators or just to have something like show actual speed on an icon with a speedometer in it. As a bit of a demo, I’ve attached a hello world Lua app.

Photo mode also got improvements, main of which is new brightness-based averaging, really helps with accumulation motion blur and DOF. Also, a few options to control accumulation DOF shape and samples distribution. This shot above had Yebis share set to 0% and yet got some bokeh. And with increased brightness boost and motion shots, it’s very easy to make shots like these:

Here is the full list of changes. Let’s hope that it wouldn’t be as broken as before, so it could be published a proper public update. I feel like it’s really close to that stage at this moment.

Oh, and RainFX got functioning racing lane now, although currently disabled by default (you can turn it on in RainFX settings). At the moment though it’s in pretty development stage, with all coefficients like cars and wheels contribution or fading speed being adjustable. Have to do more testing and find better values and possibly better formulas, taking into account car shape and aerodynamics or something like that. And there is an optional debug mode would paint track surfaces in different colors based on state of racing lane.

How to install a CSP preview?

Simply drag’n’drop it onto CM and agree to install, or, alternatively, extract dwrite.dll and extension folder to AC root folder replacing all the files.

How to get rain physics working offline?

In Content Manager, activate “Allow to use patch car’s data to activate extended physics” option in Settings/Drive and then activate custom physics in Quick Drive section.

How to get rain physics online?

If it’s your server, add “[RAIN_PREVIEW] INTENSITY = 0.5” to server’s extra options in Content Manager. Please note, you don’t need to run server from Content Manager for it to work or even use it to set that option, all those extra options will be encoded in server’s welcome message. You can always transfer them from one welcome message to another.

in what order have you installed sol in relation to Lights patch in the MODS section of content? Just curious because this has happened to me before with a different build. It's actually repeatable when you enable lights patch last on the list with SOL above it.

in the end i manually installed 0.1.76--- rain is there now but the environment is all red and blinking and looks like foggy.... crazy, this is driving me nuts

Hi, I have a question that I have not seen here, I suppose it is obvious, but I have to ask it. Is it possible, is it an online server, to plan a career for everyone? for example, in an online race the race starts dry and then it can rain or vice versa. it's possible?

I have same problem. It has been a long wait from previous patch I sure hope a lot of these broken issues are sorted. Game feels like bit of a mess and he is getting paid a lot of coin from this patreon.

One function I seem to have lost a while back is my intermittent wipers. I have "Speed up wipers mapped to one of my wheel buttons, which used to let me cycle through progressively faster intermittent wiper sweeps. I think this has stopped working since I started using Sol Weather Planner 2.1, regardless of the wiper setting I use in that app. If anyone has any suggestions or solutions, I'd really appreciate them. Hello, i have just downloaded this new csp 136, but all of your csp, and old ones, are showing like NOT AVAILABLE TO INSTALL... please can somebody help with that... I have used csp normal till now... ( speaking of CM install )

I dragged CSP 1,76 to CONTENT MANAGER - it installed - CSP shows 1,65 version installed ?? I do notice RAINFX however . UPDATE: I had to noodle around trying to figure out why the ID wasnt working any longer and then remember how to place the new ID key in the Content Manager - seems easy now ! not before ! no instruction. I now have the latest version 1.76... However I did see an error about the Assetto Corsa version being too old, it went away before I couold check the version... but it was somehting like 1.63 ..?? hmmm

im interested in hosting C.U.P server to distribute car updates among friends. anyone can help me out? i wrote a private message as directed but i guess ilja is busy. there is really zero information how to do it

Thank a lot for your work! A short comment from me regarding RAIN FX: In the open wheel cars (formula 1) spray from puddles and drops looks strange (they are moving in front of car). Looking from TV camera.

I recently transferred all my files into a new PC. While using CM with the latest CSP preview136 installed, I'm getting weird artifacts while scrolling through the menu options. Some of the text disappears and only appears when I scroll back on it once or twice. Same with some of the menu images. Luckily, it has no effect on gameplay. What should I do to get CM running normally?

Bugs list: GamePlay and AI in general 1. If AI cooldown lap activated when in a race the race sometimes don't finish. Dunno if has something to do with multiclass and cars being lapped having to complete all the distance before the game recognizes the end. 2. Related with the bug above, as the race don't finish properly the results end screen doesn't show. 3. Still related with race the clock of the game doesn't follow the real clock time, 1 second takes more than one second. In a multiclass after racing for more than 6 hours (endurance) the clock was even taking 2 seconds in real life to take one in the game, everything get slow but only the in track clock, the weather clock runs at normal speed as they should. It could be machine performance related but it occurs even if the main tread isn't overloaded. 4. Pit stops of the AI never take the same time as the pilot pit stop, even if the cfg native files for the race difficulty has been modified to activate fuel consumption and tire wear it took less than half of the time compared with the player pitstop. 5. Still related with racing endurances, some cars doesn't stop if the tire are gone, and keep crawling in the track releasing sparks because the tires are gone, eventually the pit and then the sparks stop and the pace come back to normal. They should stop for fuel or tires (not and) and stop as required to keep the car running properly. 6. The AI can't return to the race after spinning. Sometimes AI spins and it keep sideways or back to the racing line, they never use reverse gear to come back to the track, they keep stuck going forward as retards crashing in the Armco or walls and then they go back to the pits, and this happens even if they didn't damage the car. When you put in the onboard camera you can see the accelerating and releasing the throttle and go nowhere. 7. The AI can't keep the racing line when overtaking in the corners, it's like the AI can't do the math to know what is the limit of the car and then, suddenly they go off track or even over an opponent, that may or not be the player. 8. When the AI gets some kind of suspension damage the car never gets fixed when they pit and they return to the race crawling at zero speed causing traffic jam and accidents ruining any chance to have a decent race. 9. AI has the most bizarre behavior when touching some car (player or not), it automatically turn the all the wheel in the direction to keep the racing line and keep accelerating, as doing so it's almost certain that even in the minor contacts with AI you will be put off the track. This behavior doesn't relate with real life. In almost all cases humans are going to avoid contact and always will not turn all the wheel in the direction of the other car, they will progressively give some room or at least try to keep his "new line" and come back to the track/racing line not contacting with the other driver, even getting slower if it needs to change the radius of the turn or get a dirty tire. This behavior ruins every kind of overtake with more aggression thus let the game with a stupid gameplay, it will never simulate a race like this! Custom Championship bugs 1. If you change the aggression and try to save it does not update the file of the championship. 2. If you delete the cars and reload from a customized grid after creating and saving the championship it doesn't update the cars/configuration, ie: if you modify the ballast or restrictor it will not update.CM Bugs 1. The apps page where you can select what you want to be activated/inactivated has a bug when saving the profile, it saves properly but never loads the content to the page when you change the profile. CSP Bugs GRAPHICS 1. The adjust for the correction for the rendering for close and far plane is giving problems in almost all tracks and cars. If you adjust to try to correct some kind of blinkering in the track or parts of the car that are missing, it only works for one set of car and track, if you change you must readjust and, thus, despite the fact that it's a nice adjustment, it become pointless and flawed. It would be nice to the game to compensate automatically. RAINFX 1. The size of the drops when a car gets into puddles are completely out of scale, they are severely big. 2. Strange boundaries around the tire in the track make the spray look blurred and with solid contours not relating to real world. 3. Same happens with cars in the mirrors inside the spray, specially at night. 4. At night seems that the light beams are illuminating the rain drops above it boundaries and far passed it's reach in the direction of the car, specially with heavy rain it's so artificial and makes almost impossible to race at night with hard rain. 5. The behavior of the rain in the windscreen at night, also specially with hard rain is also not related to real life, the rain drops, beyond the fact that are extra illuminated, doesn't spread at speed at they should leaving a blurr in the windscreen that's not related with real life, and if you try to use the wipers the thing get even worse, because it cleans the blur but now the rain drops are again extra illuminated, making better to not use the wipers. And here there is a correlation with real world but it's in the wrong manner. In the real world, specially at night at speed with a reasonably clean windscreen it's almost unnecessary to use the wipers, because is the light in the rain drop that blur the vision, being it in the air or on the windscreen, but if there is no backlight how could be light in the raindrops on the windscreen or in the air if they are out of the reach of the light beam? So yes you could let the wipers off, but it's not for the right reason. ... and it's not over but I'm putting the list together and those are the ones that I can remember now.!

Hi, i tried to skip through the comments, but I didnt't find anyone with the same issue. Online Server with Rain works really nice and looks great, but the windscreen whipers don't want to start. I tried Mod cars and Kunos cars wicht work on singleplayer perfectly, but on online servers the whiper just doesn'ts start to work. Any suggestions?

it takes time for water and puddles to appear.......you can make them appear instantly using the weather FX rain debug option ingame from the sidebar.....just make sure you got it activated in CM....'weather debug app'

Hi I installed Sol and the CPS preview yet in game when I go into a race the rain effects work with the car with the droplets and everything but the track is unaffected in both wetness and water, and playing with the sliders in the Weatherfx debug doesn't do anything? Please help, thanks!

Oh, I've screwed up my recent night+rain server setup. Does anyone have a good write up how to do that? I have the welcome message, I have the rain intenstity but I'm confused how to make it locked to night while raining via SOL 2.1. It worked for me recently now I'm back to square after tweaking with settings for other servers :( I'm confused between weather fx and sol settings.

what have you done so far. have you installed csp 176.136 , then in CM/csp/rain FX and ticked active. then when you are in the car move the mouse to the right and click on the top icon then look for the icon with 3 rain drips then click debug to test if you have rain.

just to check, have you ticked in settings/content manager/drive/ allow to use patch cars data to activate extended physics and on the drive page have you ticked , ues extended physics ( experimental ). and not all cars have rain physics. for fps try clear sky, clouds eat fps.

When watching saved replays of online races, is there any way to get all the Particle FX working for all the cars on the track - not just the one you were driving? For tyre smoke this works, but not for dust or any water effects (water spray, splashes from puddles).

OK, so I've got 1.76 preview 136 installed and rain is working, visually. I *think* I've followed the above instructions properly to get custom wet physics working, but I'm not feeling much or any difference in terms of grip in the wet. Any ideas what I might be missing? Also, any tips on what settings are the most demanding on my GPU? I'm running VR - a Pimax 8k-x on Wide fov, so really massive rendering resolutions. I need to claw a few FPS back - with older version of SOL/CSP I was running 120% steam SS at about 75fps. With the newer updates I'm down to about 55fps at 100% steam SS. I need to claw back to at least 60fps in order to be able to use these later versions of SOL and CSP. This is on a 3080Ti. BTW, with the rain this is freaking beautiful. Such great work. Just drove the green hell at night in a thunderstorm with fireworks! Been using older non-rain versions for quite a while and finally decided to sign-up so I could get the rain version. I just have to figure out why I don't seem to get rain physics and tweak for a few more fps and it will be perfect!

I installed Sol 2.2 and the issue gone away.

I still have to reset Sol each time I start a race, otherwise the screen is way too dark. For what I read this is an issue only in VR with the latest patch. Anybody found a workaround for this issue?

No matter what i do i cant get the rain fx to appear either inside or outside the car

still having the issue where sometimes when i stop driving and am either waiting in the pits before heading out or just pull over on the track, my CPU usage spikes to 100%

...sure I can understand some complaints ´bout the support here. But I just want to mention what we got here all in all... we got a Simulation, that was released almost 10 yeares ago... and when I look at my point of view (I prefer vintage and gt4 racing) there is at the moment no better SIM to have. I understand the anger ´bout some bugs, but to be honest wich SIM does better at the moment? Maybe we should give Ilya the time he needs, hoping for better support (?) from his side, and enjoy what we got at the moment.!? (or start playing AMS2 in vintage racing or GT4 what in my oppinion is not as delightful as AC with all its great modding support (Big THX to all of ém). ...so I think it is up to everyone to choose what you like. .... and the other thing is there are nice people here and on some other sites that can help you further. Does anyone know how to force AI to use rain tyres? Even if I select rain tyres, as soon as I toggle AI on, it turns off rain tyres.

Hi! The game is beginning to be wasted! Too many bugs. I believe the gameplay must be the first priority, but it's always a mess. Maybe for those who race 20 minutes it may work, but try to do an endurance, it's a joke. AI is compleely broken, and it's not the mods or the track or the lines, the AI simple can't cope to race properly, its behaviour is a waste. Cars broken keep running on the track, doesn't pit for repairs, if they pit somekind of suspension damage can't be fixed and they return to the race crawling and then the circus begin, another cars brake behind and when they go for the overtake it is at slow speed causing a traffic jam in the middle of the race and there is no place to go because the track is filled with cars. When they stop for fuel they spend only the time to change tires, seems they 're not refueling even if in the proper ini files the property to spend fuel is activated. I definetly will stop supporting and I'm even considering change to an official game as AMS2. It may not be perfect but at least it's possible to race properly offline with AI. Beyond that there is no properly channel to speak with Ilja, only this comment session that we don't know if he reads. All the AWE I had last year when i started modding AC and choose to run a Championship have now becom a bitter disapointment. Check my Twitch channel and watch the last broadcast I made (today) skip to lap 70 grab some popcorn and begin to laught. (twitch.tv/realdealgod) It was a waste of time.

any version after the preview 1 I get this strange effect that the cars don't look natural on the track surface? they seem a little bit higher so I always go back to preview 1?

Go to settings/csp settings/nice screenshots/ Accumulation motiom blur(for replays) and there turn HDR fix exposure to 0%

Agree with you 100 percent. I appreciate what he has done and does but all these constant bad bugs for a number of releases is getting bit annoying and just not keeping people in the loop. Considering I've probably paid him more then what I actually paid for the game.

This is still under development my friend :) It's far from perfect but Ilya will get there :)

its so sad that with every build is comming some new features and braking other things which was working nicely before , it seems we walking in one spot , i noticed some builds ago some bugs wich broke some things but its still there couple of builds ago , this bugs is like the Wipers graphical offset glitch in VR , the Toogle/Push button behaviour in controls its not working long time ago if i choose the push mode , and i couldnt find any answer how to get wet tyre /extended physics in online ??? , i realy realy apreciate ilja's job , its extremely fantastic what he done , Just to keep their patreons ,should get a bit more ordonated the whole process , like it would be more clear to have a special webpage where bugs reporting could be more ordonated and can see how many people are encountering the same thing and focusing on those which are more often . I like to have new cool stuffs with every new build ,but it so annoying that we have still alot of bugs several builds ago , not even say that with every new build is broking some others , so i realy curious if im just only with my feelings ?

I don't want to bother him asking for a solution, I'd only like to know why ... what's happened with lights-patch-v0.1.74-preview33-full when suddenly my navigators stopped working. Till lights-patch-v0.1.74-preview3-full everything was right. What's changed? Why my computer doesn't show maps? Because I see a lot of video with GPS working, of course is my bad ... but why? Hello to the experts.I have little understanding of the intricacies of amazing AC mods.Tell me how to fix daylight saving time in the sol settings.So that the same month is constantly in a fast race.In the next race, it is constantly reset to the current time, that is, for autumn. Real and ideal conditions are disabled.After entering the race, a flash appears after one second and resets to real time, but this only applies to the month.This does not apply to the time of day. ........I found it myself.There are additional options to the right of the "time" slider.You just need to tick the "specific data".

Whenever I preview screenshot in replays it goes full flashbang mode. Don't know tried it with multiple ppfilters, but all of them give the same result. Previewing screenshots while driving works fine though, just in replays it's scuffed for me.

I have had a graphical glitch for a while now but I just managed to actually record it, it happens for just 1 or 2 frames, it's like a driver model is being glitched onto the car or something? CM still failed to save AMD Fidelity FX Resolution Sharpness setting and Post-processing antialiasing Quality settings. It reverted back to default settings if you choose very high sharpness on fidelityfx settings and Ultra quality on post-processing antialiasing settings. Having this issue ever since 1.76.

I'm having an issue when using any CSP version newer than 1.71 - the ends of my windscreen wipers are streched out when they're laying flat, I can only see the issue in one eye of my VR headset.

I think there is a tick box in the particle effects settings for long lasting smoke.

From what I have seen, it looks like the new smoke is mimicking the colour of the clouds. if the clouds are orange the smoke is too, if the clouds are dark (stormy) the smoke looks black.

I don't know if rain tires work on a server, I was just able to add rain. I created the server with CM and uploaded it to my server. When you are in CM in the Server Section, navigate to the MAIN Tab, there is a section called Custom Shaders Patch where you can select, if CSP is required to join the server. Under that is a button called Extra options. Click it and add [RAIN_PREVIEW] INTENSITY = 0.5 and your server should have rain added. As I understand it you can add that also to the welcome message.

I am running CSP 0.176.163 on Assetto Corsa Server Manager Premium, Penguin Server. I still can not get rain physics and rain tyres to work or show up at all online. I read the description above, but it is extremely vague to where to find this location to load this code, as my CM nor Penguin server does not have a place in the server options section for me to install this code. Any help would be great.

OK guys I hope someone can help with this. For aslong as I can remember I have had this issue. Its with the standard AC motion blur option ( not CSP ) I want to use the extra fx option in AC put it only works if the standard motion blur is turned off . This is the issue when I have CSP installed the motion blur option is reversed so 0 ( off ) is on and 12 ( full ) is off weird huh? Anyway the point is it ruins performance because CSP thinks the option is off when its actually on if that makes sence. Doing my head in can anyone help me please? Thanks in advance Pete

I think I've found a bug. Following the recommendation of having FXAA checked in AC settings and disabled in CSP, in case you don't want to use it, does not seem to actually disable FXAA. I found this by investigating why the image is so blurry and looks like a sack of potatoes in VR. Unchecking FXAA fixed this and it also seems to have fixed exposure issues with pp-filters

Hi. Just wondering in general, there doesn't seem to be much support for triple screen setups. My frame rate seems to be heaps better running Triples on my 49" widescreen. Switching to Single hence getting the full CSP experience drops my frames significantly. I am running a RTX 2060S. Anyhow just wondering is it normal for a lot of features to not work when running Triples?

Are you using VR? If so - I believe everybody has this issue. Open Sol config, press reset sol and that fixes it - until you load another track and you have to do this again.

CSP is a blessing when building tracks but one of the big things holding track builders back is still the original engine. There are some quite massive limitations which can be really annoying to work around while building. Of course there are some absolutely masterful artists like the LAC/Pacific Highway or Sachsenring makers but yeah, that takes a lot of time and even more patience ^^

I think the server is able to follow a weatherplan since preview92 but I haven't played around with it yet. AI is not possible. What is possible is recording a replay, like a ghost, and then having a script send the data from that replay (position and rotation of the vehicle) to the server. seems to run well however when i come to a complete stop on track my CPU usage will spike and hold at 100% with different wheather effects active. as soon as i get moving again the CPU usage drops back to normal around 15-30% . edit: running on version 1.76 (136)

Since this update there seems to be a problem with RSS cars the halo disappears and re appears whilst in F3 mode. When in the pits you have to select halo when in the past you had to deselect the halo. I noticed this whilst using the 2021 Interlagos track.

I like the new built very much. But the game braker is: the exhaust smoke is completly gone :( and the new flames are not working either. Does not matter which car/track combo. Maybe these are only two little visual gimmicks but very important for the immersion.

Glad another release is out but wipers are still broken in VR, AMD FFX is still blurry on Oculus Rift S which I really want to work so can get some fps back to bump up some other settings. It's been broken for a while now.

Performance issues for me as well, running a Quest 2 with the Rift driver. Used to be stable at 120fps but now down to 85-90 on average.

noob question.... since last csp update an analogic tachometer appeared on bottom right of my screen, with every car. i cannot disable it, cannot find any setting to toggle it off and it cover the other apps. it seems it is no t an app and it is not listed in the app list. how the hell i can remove it? anybody has it since last csp release? even rolling back to 134 doesnt toggle it off...

I really enjoy your work. But I am new to Assetto Corsa and Sim Racing in general. Yesterday we had our first race. With Content Manager making a server was just easy. All went good. Sadly even this update didn't fix my issue with GPS not working! It's really weird, with 1.60 all cars with GPS work, from 1.7 only few (Alfa Romeo Giulia and Ford Mustang). Tried on my wife's PC everithing work fine! Same identical installation, just different hardware and OS (she has Windows 11). Maybe something related on older hardwer of my PC??? Please, help me.

Perhaps it might be possible to toggle whether people want to use the brightness-based averaging or the method from before? It caught me off by surprise when I realized I forgot to turn off the HDR stuff and my photos would be immensely bright as a result. Moreso just as an option so people could choose between the two for which one they'd like to use more. Also, if I could request a small fix.. I tend to usually leave the little Photo Mode widget button in the minimized position, even during races, but noticed that even during replays, it now retains whatever settings are there, meaning I have to completely remove it from the screen altogether to go to default values (compared to just having had it minimized in the past). Any chance this could be fixed? Otherwise, fantastic work as always!

136 has the same "darkness in VR headset" issue as 134. 92 is the last release that didn't have the issue. So, it started with 134.

The 134 version didn't work with the rain sound, I don't know if it was just me, I'm going to test the 136 yet.

This whole "thing" called AC together with Peter's Pure Weather just looks f***ing ridiculously fantastic with this update. 136 even again a bit better in performance than 134. No complaints here. Super sharp image. Best rainFX out there (by far). I am already super happy. Funny thing is that in my opinion the tracks keep being "behind". Cars and Weather are almost on the top of the mountain. Now you can see and feel the age of the tracks even more. BIG thanks Ilja!!!!!!

hello , since preview 63 , still have issue in VR, overall image is vibrating , flashing ,like a trouble in the refreshrate that i don't have in preview 1. so for the moment i stick to this one.

Since preview 63 there is no rain effect in any rear view mirrors and no water spray off the tyres in any view. I couldn't find any new option in settings that would affect this and was hoping the later versions would fix it but not the case. Preview 92 and 134 are the same. I tried disabling virtual and real mirrors but no difference. The rear view is like looking at the selected weather but dry as a bone! Do I need to enable new smoke to get the water spray and wet weather in the mirrors?

I'm not sure which version started it, but I had this latest version installed and having Post-Processing enabled with any PP filter made the VR display very dark. I confirmed by disabling Post-Processing. I turned Post-Processing back on and reverted to version 1.75 and it was fine. Also tested 1.76 preview 92 (the last preview before this one) and it's fine there too.

I race in VR so I don't have Extra FX enabled, but the description says to disable extra sharpness when enabling FSR, maybe that helps? I did have extremely blurry graphics with FSR in the for former update, went back to preview1 then where everything was ok. With the 134 and 135 patch the blurriness is gone thankfully for me

Wow only 1 other person reported the sol 2d clouds not working issue. I guess everyone is using sol's own 3d cloud :D Anyway just a heads up ilja, sol's 2d clouds and "method 1" 3d clouds are broken with p134 and p135. Otherwise a problem free release for me.

Yes not only 2d clouds but also "method 1" 3d clouds too. Only peter's own cloud system works. Which is something i don't really like.

Hi ilaj again thanks for the amazing updates you are working really hard and fast we all appreiciate that , hopefully you get to read this coment - ive notice with the new update when taking screenshots the camera won't go back to focus -i'm not sure why there's a viritual thacometer but i would like to know how to get rid of it ? -the new smoke is still abit off and blur the windows of the car and makes it extremly pixaleted when taking a screenshot however the previous smoke on patch 76 preview 1 is much much much better and more realistic as a sim drifter player its kinda important to help you fix it , the new smoke is just to much its just really off at least for me i tried playing with the settigns and there's nothing to do its to grey the spawn generation point is to exagerate it fly way to high its just a mess but i understand the idea you trying to make hopefully we can get it better or just have older version

Almost everything is working nicely, thank you Ilja. I would like to confirm if the rain physic is already working with all the cars or it's only for the 3 cars mentionend in a previous post ? We didn't get any official statement about it few months after. I've enabled the experimental physic, I get the wet lines, the rain tyres but the handling is always like driving in dry track.

I have that exact same issue now with the MX5 cup. A quick fix that I found was to go to the car config.ini and delete the section adding stuff to the wipers

Hey Ilja , i dont know why but this build is giving me huge fps hits. i run a 3070 and i7 10700 and the previous build was gibvigng me constant 60 fps on 4k and nearly all settings maxed out on csp. but this new build iam getting around 30 fps at night and between 50-60 at daytime.. with some huge fps drops in the start finish line and in some corners.. could you pls check on this?

When you open the in-game sol config app there is a 'reset sol' button on the top right. Fixed the dark image for me. I use the Natural_mod filter as it seems to work best in VR. I did turn the rain on for a bit to see that it did indeed work, but I didnt play with it for long

awesome update, but sadly the motion blur still doesn't work for me. downgrading to the regular builds like 1.75 it works fine though. Wish i knew what could be the issue :( Loading the earlier csp builds too like 1.73, the motion blur works just fine with the same settings im using in this new preview build **EDIT** It looks like it does work but not nearly as noticeable as the other csp builds and i have it ranked up to 100%

Oh also since two releases ago (sorry should have reported it sooner) the windscreen wipers in some cars (e.g. 458 GT2) are doing that mad thing again where they are all bent out of shape in just the right eye view in VR.

I think I might be having the same problem as Andre above. I did the Hold on Tight challenge (Scottish Highlands at 3:00pm) on previous version, then remembered this update had been released, installed it and then did the challenge again. The lighting was much darker and moodier (very cool looking it has to be said), but the sun was blinding when in my eyes (in VR), literally struggling to make out the track in front of me. Using Natural_Mod or Sol PP filter. On a positive note, I must say since the last release I've been really impressed with the anti-aliasing, clarity and all round general beautifulness that CSP has brought to the game on my Valve Index with a lowly 1070.

Hello, I have been getting "Race Cancelled" when Sol is enabled. Disabling Weather FX or using default weather controller resolves the issue. I believe it's an issue with Sol, but I have not been able to figure this out for several months so I thought I would try asking here. Any help would be much appreciated. Some troubleshooting steps I have taken: Format/clean install of Windows. Clean install of AC, CM, CSP, Sol multiple times. All settings default, no extra apps installed. Tested multiple versions of Sol, including current, past, alphas, and Pure. Tested multiple versions of CSP, including older versions as well as Patreon builds. Toggled between Sol scripts in WeatherFX. Tested every type of weather. Changed cloud rendering method in sol_config. Tried vanilla Kunos content. Changed Game Starter method in CM. Deleted Assetto Corsa folder from Documents, so a new one is created. Deleted AcTools Content Manager from AppData, to compeltely reset CM. Disabled Extended Weather in CM->Drive. Verified integrity of game files via Steam. All drivers are up to date. Specs: Intel 9900k, EVGA 3080 Ti FTW3, 32GB RAM.

I have an issue... I use 2D clouds but with this preview, there is no clouds ! Same after reset SOL settings !! Back to preview 92 and the clouds are back ! Any idea ?

In replay, just put a free camera somewhere, press a motion shot button in the next photo mode app (one in the bottom right corner, with circles on it), make sure camera doesn’t follow a nearest car (can be done from the context menu of that button), that should let you make a very long “exposure” shots. But it wouldn’t look like that by default. For that, go to CSP Nice Screenshots settings (you can access them with context menu of CM’s icon in the Windows tray) and set boost to something high. I was using 1000 for those shots. That would give bright areas much bigger weight in final averaging, resulting in those light tracks. Oh, and you would need to enable accumulation motion blur and possibly increase its iterations multiplier a bit. That should work. Great work! Only one issue that im having which is on certain cars im pressing the gas pedal and the car does not rev up. however when i downgrade CSP to 0.1.75 the cars work fine

Just add something like this to server extra config: [PORTALS] PORTAL_0 = 192.168.1.30:8081 ; server IP and HTTP port, entry list should match PORTAL_0_POS = -40.89, -6.64, -415.83 PORTAL_0_COLOR = 1, 1, 0, 1 ; optional; RGB and transparency You can get coordinates with Objects Inspector, for example. One limitation for now, entry list should match on both servers, drivers would teleport using the same car.

I have a small issue - the lightning is way too dark, with SOL set at noon and sunny weather. When I 'reset sol' from the in-game app everything is ok again, but everytime I load a track it's too dark and I have to reset sol again. This is since installing this csp update :-/ Edit with lightning I mean the whole screen is too dark

If you can use CM to set server, just use its “Extra options” button and add this: [RAIN_PREVIEW] INTENSITY = 0.5 REQUIRED = 1 ; if set, would stop people without RainFX; to ensure people wouldn’t join with old version of CSP or without it at all might help to also set a minimum required AC version It would also be encoded in welcome message, so once configured, you can move it to a different server preset, just make sure to carry all tab symbols over (they’re meant to hide configuration line from people using original AC)

Thank you! Oh, that is something I couldn’t figure out well, so RainFX now uses vertex AO for reducing amount of rain in tunnels. Problem could be due to SRP not using vertex AO or using it with some unusual settings where tunnels are too bright. Very promising update. Anyone on VR could confirm any performance issue in this version compared to previous build? The previous one gave consistent fps without stuttering. The only issue i got was the digital speedometer keep disappearing, . Won't be able to get to my PC for another week. Thanks in advance, great progress as usual.

Excellent stuff man, can't wait to give the drying line a try. But seeing how you're adding functionality to rain, I have a question. Specifically on SRP, when it's raining all the roads have the same level of "standing water" regardless of tunnel or open sky. This "Wetness occlusion" only worked properly in one version; 0.1.74 (or thereabouts, the one where wipers would stop incorrectly in replays). Is this problem actually a design decision on your end, or is it a bug that you've just not gotten around to fixing?

Thanks for the update Ilja, so far so good, loving the new updates! The real question though, how do we actually have rain online? Apparently the "For testing, rain is active with intensity N%." is not working (from what I can tell. Hope you get to see this comment. :)
