With 0.1.43, apart from various fixes (I would really want to prepare a new stable build right now), I added a small temporary thing. I had this idea for a long time, to see if any of those cool pursuits would work with more accurate physics. And now Custom Shaders Patch can exchange messages between clients via chat, so why not try it. I didn’t want to waste too much time on it, just do something which would allow to check if it’s any fun or not.
To use it, make a server and add “Server takes part in testing of a new experimental pursuit mode.” (with a dot at the end) in its welcome message. With that message, one of clients will become a chased one, rest will be marked as chasing. Once chased car is stopped for 10 seconds (or just 2 seconds if it’s too damaged), pursuit is over, and new car to be chased will be picked. For now, there are no scores or anything like that, just some basic stuff.
As far as I can tell from connecting to a LAN server twice, it should work. Here is a small server running with Soyo’s track, Daikoku Parking Area: invitation link. Please feel free to try it and let me know what you think. Also, please do share it if you want more people to try it, but it might not be reliable for now.
