2025-12-28 15:48:12 +0000 UTCMy Hero Academia had one hell of a wild ride and got the epic sendoff it truly deserved... hats off to Studio Bones for delivering another exceptional anime adaptation and to the manga-ka for delivering a very solid conclusion to this solid shounen series. Despite my own gripes with the main character over the series, much like KOL I really appreciated the author allowing other characters to shine and grow alongside Deku as they quickly rose to the top of my ranks along with solid villains to take the story to all new highs. I still wonder what people would have preferred more: Deku remain quirkless from the start or just master his one base quirk to perfection like Bakugo instead of spreading his mastery thin over several quirks like we got (it's really too bad we never got to see him master one for all to the point that he could do new things that even Almight hadn't discovered). That being said he went back to being quirkless and got that real Ironman treatment with all the advanced technology former class 1-A students, Almight, and his friend poured into over many years of research and development allowing Deku to live out his dreams of working as a professional hero because... in the end NO ONE was truly more deserving of such an honor than he was. Truly touching what everyone did for him and a damn perfect sendoff in my opinion. I don't see why people would be so bothered by him losing his powers because it served a narrative purpose and was a pivotal point in the story. What really matters is that he maintains the "heart of a hero" and can fulfill his tasks even if it's technologically charged and driven now. Since he knows all his moves by heart and former techniques so well, his super advanced hi-tech suit will allow him to replicate most of his previous moves (the physical ones at least), plus he can zipline still which is awesome for technological aerial traversal (not to mention using OFA was simply breaking his body beyond repair to the point that continued usage would simply render him crippled in due time). It's actually an interesting twist that's different from him just being quirkless, only having a single quirk, or having multiple quirks. Instead he becomes quirkless with the most hi-tech suit in existence allowing him to hold his own against the best of the best professional heroes just like his great rival, BakuGOAT, wouldn't have it any other way! <3
