but at long last (at least it felt like it took a billion years to finish for me), it's done. i spent yesterday rendering this and as far as i can tell, it seems to have turned out pretty nicely! thankfully, i was able to catch any standout problems (i.e., renders turning out muddy/grainy which i was able to fix by brightening things up - much as i wasn't the biggest fan of doing so on account of not wanting to make the lighting less dynamic) before doing the full thing, so that was certainly helpful. as with any project though, there was ONE issue - i exported the images as .TIFF files instead of .PNGs (mainly because i heard that sped up render times slightly with no noticable visual downgrade). the only reason that ended up being an issue was because adobe premiere pro is abhorrent dogshit (straight up broke my file explorer and i had to restart my whole PC). eventually i just used blender to export a video of the image sequence so it all worked out in the end despite almost making me go insane.

anyways, technical talk aside - given that i rendered it during the day, i wasn't able to get a whole lot done on anything else. i did manage to get a start on the concept for the mimi animation, so i'll be trying to get the WIP shot of that ready for you guys sometime tomorrow (or possibly tonight depending on how much work i can get done today). as for the sound on this, i'll likely be handing the VA off for shiba to work on if she's available - so that'll be ready when it's ready. the skit, on the other hand, i'm gonna attempt to finish by tomorrow since it's relatively short (at least on paper).
